Boosting the capacity and efficiency of our water treatment facilities is critical amidst population growth and environmental regulations. 🚰🌿 In a move that speaks volumes about the future of wastewater management, Anglian Water, Scottish Water, and United Utilities have collectively taken a leap forward by ordering 30 cutting-edge Hybrid-SAF units from WCS Environmental Engineering. 🛠️🌊 This strategic investment is not just about compliance with upcoming regulatory standards, it's a testament to the industry's commitment to sustainable water solutions. The versatility and efficiency of Hybrid-SAF technology make it a game-changer for regional infrastructures grappling with the demands of growing populations. With installations already underway, these units are set to bolster our water recycling capacities, reducing the impact on our natural water resources and paving the way for greener communities. 💡🌱 The UK water sector is navigating a transformative era; these orders are a signpost of the innovation that's driving us forward.

[#BLOG] 💧🌍 Wastewater treatment and reuse: more ambitious targets. targets. Due to the world's growing population and the intensification of uses (agricultural, industrial, domestic and urban), #freshwater reserves are under increasing pressure, diminishing in quantity and quality in many parts of the world. This increase in consumption is taking place against a backdrop of #ClimateChange, which is disrupting the usual water cycles, exacerbating shortages or flooding depending on time and place. Adapting to these major transformations implies more sustainable water management and paradigm shifts. Treated wastewater reuse (TWR), as an alternative source of clean water, is one of the possibilities put forward to relieve tensions. Jérôme C., one of Artelia's water treatment experts, takes a look at the current state of REUT projects and practices. Read the full article on our blog!

A new era for waste-water related investments begins
Congratulation to my colleagues at EU Environment and Climate for the adoption of the #UrbanWastewaterTreatmentDirective. It is an example on how innovation results paved the way for improving legislation with the introduction of new requirements for nutrient recovery, removal of emerging contaminants and improving the management of run-off. Innovation projects funded under #FP7 and #Horizon2020 allowed to show that these improvements are feasible and technology is ready. Let's move towards #zeropollution and with the involvement of the water sector, wastewater management will become more and more sustainable.
