I'll explain in this tweet the advantages such a visit has for a Rwandan citizen. For a Rwandan citizen, President Kagame's visit to Senegal to meet with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and members of the cabinet signifies a diplomatic effort to strengthen ties between Rwanda and Senegal. This could potentially lead to new agreements or collaborations in areas such as trade, security, or cultural exchange. Such a visit can also be seen as an opportunity for Rwanda to expand its diplomatic and economic influence in West Africa, which could ultimately benefit the citizens through increased opportunities and partnerships. I personally believe that in our effort to embark on a free trade within the African region, governments of the African continents must be circumspect in the promulgation and implementation of trade barriers such as harsh trade tariffs that do not encourage the goal of AFCFTA but rather stifle whole progress of the economic freedom of the continent.
As companies that seek to help realize Ghana’s goal of expanding its regional trade within Africa — especially in the context of its leadership role as host of the #AfCFTA Secretariat — we are concerned about the demonstration effect of such a measure on neighboring or other African countries who may try to copy such a measure. https://lnkd.in/e6QsyZw5
