Let me ask you something: Do you know what your customers want? Do you really? You can’t answer that effectively without a customer strategist. Every team needs one. A customer strategist: - Leads customer research - Analyzes customer behavior - Helps identify customer opportunities - Advocates for the customer Without a customer strategist, you'll only operate at your level of understanding. And, operating at a low level of understanding will cause you to miss out on valuable opportunities to meet customer needs and stand out from the competition. So, if you don't have one yet, it's time to prioritize hiring a customer strategist. Trust me, it's an investment worth making.

✨ Why you should hire an in-house Customer Advocate ✨ (or up-skill your current talent) As a market researcher / consultant, I do customer advocacy for a living. I see the need and the demand across functions, from start-ups to corporations. I love my job and I want you to fire me as soon as you can. A bit risky to say, in this economy 👀 Let me explain. As an outsider, I serve as a kickstarter for customer advocacy and a trusted sparring partner for marketing leaders and product owners. I facilitate meaningful conversations between colleagues, and make customer value everyone's business. But, in the long run, companies will miss out on the benefits of customer advocacy by relying on me or a team of consultants to take care of the most important aspect of their business: knowing their customers. 🫶 In the ideal world, a Customer Advocate is not an outsourced role. Our biggest mistake in the startup journey: We are at 100+ customers & forgot to hire a customer success manager! Customer Success as a function has always been the closest to my heart. I kept doing it myself till I now realize that I am not able to give it enough time. I love talking to my customers & helping them wherever our product or service falls short. But, we are now setting up a team of ninjas who have insane customer empathy and are willing to go above & beyond for customers to derive the most out of our service. Unfortunately, most people think customer success is about: - listening to the complaints of unhappy customers - try to get their clients to renew or expand - anchor weekly calls While these are small parts of the role, but the best customer success is about helping customers unlock the max value out of a product or a service. A customer success manager is able to understand the exact limitations of the product & know exactly where it would fall short of a particular customer. If you do this well, all other metrics follow.
