Perfectly captures the state of play with innovation
Director at Instinctif Partners | Corporate Communications | Energy & Net Zero | Risk & Crisis | Capital Markets
I caught up with fellow Instinctif Partners energy lead Ross Melton to discuss our takeaways from an informative Energy Networks Association (ENA) #EnergyInnovationSummit. A great couple of days catching up with clients, former colleagues, network companies and their vital innovative supply chain. 💡Vast amounts of innovation is taking place, but it feels in many cases to be evolution now rather than revolution. ⚙️A whole systems mindset has never been more important and this matters most at the grid-edge and with consumers. ⚡️Innovation successes need clearer routes to commercialisation at scale and to become BAU - and this will mean making them the option of choice for consumers. An early-stage idea can hold a world of promise. Just look at the 23 winners in the CONCEPT Phase of the #CommunityEnergyInnovation Prize competition! 🏆🌿💡 Thirteen competitors in the Clean Energy Ecosystem Track and ten competitors in the Manufacturing Ecosystem Track have each won $100,000 for their promising ideas, and now they advance to their respective PROGRESS phases to put ideas into action. The Clean Energy Ecosystem Track competitors are drawing from a range of CEIP initiatives, technologies, and areas of focus to craft projects that advance community-based clean energy transitions in disadvantaged communities. The Manufacturing Ecosystem Track competitors are helping communities and organizations that have been historically underserved further the development of innovation ecosystems. Their projects are showing how to build the stakeholders, resources, and activities—and the relationship and connections between them—that drive technological advancement. Winners of the PROGRESS Phase in each track will earn a cash prize and be eligible to demonstrate success in the final IMPACT Phase for a chance at the grand prize.
