Strategizing to End Child Hunger Our World Vision Africa leadership team, is currently attending the World Vision Africa Regional Governance Forum in Ethiopia. This forum brings together the World Vision International Board, National Boards, and Advisory Councils to strategize on overcoming challenges impacting Africa and creating lasting change for children. The theme for the forum is the #ENOUGH campaign, aimed at ending child hunger across Africa. In the face of crisis that Africa face, it’s the children who suffer the most. Starving children need our immediate attention and support. By incorporating resilience-building interventions into funding for all emergency responses, we can prevent future hunger crises and ensure every child has enough. Let's work together to protect the most vulnerable and ensure no child goes hungry. Every October 1st, Nigerians celebrate national independence but 2025 Trump's Executive order has proved how vulnerable we've been. USAID's $1.2 billion annual aid supports critical sectors, including clean water and sanitation (WASH). The recent 90-day funding suspension has halted key WASH projects, leaving millions vulnerable to waterborne diseases, disrupting sanitation services, and threatening Nigeria’s progress toward SDG 6 Beyond public health risks, this decision has led to mass layoffs in NGOs and local businesses, further deepening economic hardship. To mitigate the impact, government, private sector, and communities must step up—through emergency funding, CSR initiatives, and advocacy for alternative solutions. We must act now to prevent a WASH crisis. We have been receiving US aid for 64 years, yet our country has not developed, so cutting it off from us now will not destroy us, rather it will motivate us to work and rely on ourselves. I'm optimistic that this necessity will truly birth countless invention in Africa and beyond How can we mobilize local and global support?

In Q4 2023, PIND actively engaged in 9 forums, connecting with 559 stakeholders, and effectively showcased its initiatives on social media, reaching over 928,000 individuals. Simultaneously, we distributed 3 newsletters, attracting 8,353 new website visitors, and promptly responded to 79 emails and 11 social media inquiries, solidifying our position as a thought leader. Furthermore, we secured 36 mainstream media mentions, totaling 146 for the year, with a combined reach exceeding 1.7 million people. Additionally, the foundation received 64 public endorsements, underscoring our impactful contributions to the Niger Delta region. PIND continues to effectively convey its transformative work in the Niger Delta, ultimately contributing to sustainable development in the region. Sharing our interventions continues to ensure the region is ripe for donor investments. Our strategic communication efforts aim to continue amplifying our impact and fostering meaningful change in the communities we serve. 🔎 "How can national multi-stakeholder coalitions strengthen the #GreatGreenWall's mission?” Two weeks ago, focal points and representatives from Senegal, Chad, Nigeria, Sudan, and Djibouti came together in Senegal to tackle key questions: Which stakeholders should be engaged, how should we navigate power dynamics, and how can we develop effective advocacy strategies? This training kicked off a dedicated ‘Great Green Wall Week,’ where key stakeholders reflected and developed new strategies to accelerate the re-greening of the Sahel and improve livelihoods across the region.
