Rather than saying safety is our number priority, I'd much rather frame it as - literally nothing else is important, unless our safety outcomes are achieved. That's an important subtly as it reframes safety as a qualifying criteria - rather than placing it as something which we should try to do. We communicate with our teams each week in Wales & Western to the extent we try and give as much permission as possible to our teams to place safety as the very basis for what is done, rather than something which should be sought after. https://lnkd.in/ejSyRXky

We launch our Q2 Theme ‘Preventing Personal Injuries’ with a reminder that we are a member-led organisation working together to prevent harm to our frontline workers. To do this, it is important that we understand hazards at site, the harm they can cause us, and how we can control them to prevent injuries to ourselves and colleagues. In our Q2 Theme ‘Preventing Personal Injuries’ portal, we have collated resources to help our Member Companies to: - Enhance awareness of personal hazards and the potential for personal injuries, and - Understand how your decisions affect the risk of personal injuries. Step Change in Safety Always Safe https://lnkd.in/gp6bwQ_k

March is National Ladder Safety Month. National Ladder Safety Month, spearheaded by the American Ladder Institute (ALI), is the only program dedicated exclusively to promoting ladder safety, at home and work. Each year, tens of thousands of injuries and hundreds of deaths are caused by ladder misuse. By providing critical guidelines and raising awareness on safe use, we can help decrease these numbers. Below you will find links to facilitate discussion on ensuring awareness is being raised and that each teammate understands the risk around ladder safety. Please find attached documents to help share both ladder safety at work, and at home. https://lnkd.in/etiKwQYC https://lnkd.in/eMN_Edvd https://lnkd.in/egntu9_r.
