A super sweet summer Saturday in Saint Paul caps an eventful week in the city: Mayor Melvin W. Carter III exemplified his commitment to downtown by announcing investments in public safety, meanwhile the Union Depot announced its retail space being fully leased. We hope to see you downtown on Saturday to enjoy the Minnesota Summer Craft Beer Festival, Hozier live in concert, plus the final show of the summer for the Ordway Inside Out series in Rice Park. So I got sent this video, and I want to say this: 1) Billy Cobham is amazing. Listen to more of him 2) Yussuf Dayes is amazing. Listen to more of him. 3) I doubt either Billy or Yussuf are on that "vs" ting, especially since Billy is a grown ass man, and Yussuf went to Billy for lessons 4) Yussuf was one of the first people I interviewed as a jazz journalist; he's the real deal 5) Pele was the real deal, Messi is the real deal. Comparing Pele to Messi doesn't improve you, Pele or Messi 6) see 1) & 2) above 7) This is why I paid my own money to arrange a sit down and interview with the Dayes brothers - and Wayne Francis - back in the day. Because I wanted him to tell his side of the story, not have someone use his image and likeness to fuel some clickbait culture war; people who do this care nothing for either black people or the culture. 8) see 6) above 9) The youngers are making waves and their are incubating that - as far as I can see, away from the the tendency to rivalry, comparison, and badmind. That's why the ezra collective is a collective, that's why Kollecktiva is a collective 10) had the video just put Cobham and Dayes side by side and showed similarities, it would have been more in keeping with the culture . 11) when I was playing jazz music regularly and when I was Yussuf's age, all sorts of grown people who needed to know better were making all sorts of comparisons between me and non-black musicians in order to get attention, sales, or just to pass the time. Most of those people are dead now, Strangely they all also predicted the death of jazz. As Yussuf demonstrates, Jazz lives on. I think Billy will be happy with that. 12) See 8 above 13) regarding point 7) - is it time for me to come out here and school these jive jazz journalists again or nah? https://lnkd.in/eqXKywDv #jazz

No one likes drinking alone. And the busier your taproom, the more each guest will spend. We analyzed thousands of taproom visits to see how the perceived level of busyness correlates to how much guests spend. Guests spent 38% more in packed taprooms compared to empty taprooms from 2017 to 2022. At one point, it was simply about the beer. Then the word 'experience' crept in. 'Experience' refers to every little aspect that contributes to a guest having a more memorable time. Their experience could be enhanced by something as basic as the music playing or something as extravagant as a decked-out anniversary celebration. See how by consistently facilitating and delivering these wow moments, you can see a busier taproom with higher tabs and more smiles.

Inside The Sound: EquaSonics believes that music can be a game-changer in advertising. Chipotle Mexican Grill's “Back to the Start” campaign is a perfect example of how a bold music choice can tell a powerful story. Chipotle Mexican Grill's iconic spot, created by Creative Artists Agency, took a bold step by having Willie Nelson cover Coldplay’s “The Scientist.” This choice might have seemed unconventional, but Nelson’s weary vocals added depth and emotion that resonated deeply with audiences. The animated short film captivated viewers, effectively conveying the brand’s message both emotionally and logistically. The lesson here is clear—sometimes the best ideas start with, “I know it sounds crazy, but…” At EquaSonics, we embrace creativity and bold choices to craft music and soundscapes that leave a lasting impression. #SoundDesign #EquaSonics #MusicInAdvertising #IconicAds #Chipotle #BackToTheStart #WillieNelson #Coldplay #FilmProduction #CreativeSound https://lnkd.in/gc4stDEn
