My MA dissertation, approached from a Saudi perspective, explores the works of female artists Manal Al Dowayan and Filwa Nazer. It examines how significant cultural shifts have influenced their perspectives and artistic expressions over the past few decades. Through an analysis of their nuanced critiques of patriarchal structures, the research delves into the complexities of Saudi femininity and the ongoing negotiation of cultural boundaries. This study contributes to the discourse on art, feminism, and cultural identity within a rapidly evolving Saudi context, highlighting the rich intersections of gender and artistic expression.
