📢 ArXiv DSA: Private federated discovery of out-of-vocabulary words for Gboard Summary: To make your Google keyboard better at suggesting words, Google needs to know which words you're typing that it doesn't already know. To do this, they've developed a private system that collects this information from your device while keeping your data safe. This system ensures that your words stay anonymous, so Google can't see what you're typing. The system uses a special privacy measure that says Google is very unlikely to be able to figure out what specific words you've typed, even if they combine the information from many users.
