The holiday season is a time of joy, family, and well-deserved rest for many. But behind the scenes, there’s a group of people working tirelessly to make sure it all runs smoothly—your HR department. For every vacation request approved, every schedule adjusted, and every last-minute challenge resolved, there’s an HR professional putting in the effort to ensure that everyone gets the chance to spend time with their loved ones. While others are celebrating, we’re making sure the work continues, balancing the needs of employees and the organization. It’s not always an easy task, and sometimes, it feels like these efforts go unnoticed. But we do it because we care. We care about the people who make the company what it is, and we care about creating an environment where balance and understanding are possible—even during the busiest times. So this holiday season, take a moment to thank your HR team. A little appreciation goes a long way in making all that effort worthwhile. To my fellow HR colleagues, remember this: what you do matters. You are the glue that holds everything together during the most hectic times of the year. Let’s keep pushing forward with compassion and dedication, knowing that our work makes a difference. Happy holidays to all, and here’s to teamwork and gratitude!

'Tis the Season to be more joyful ✨ I'm curious...what is your favorite thing about the holidays? The thing that brings you effortless joy... for me its hot cup of coffee spiced with the flavors of the season of my own creation. Every time, without fail, this sparks a glimmer of joy in my soul. "Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you." – Anne Lamott As the holiday season wraps us in its warmth, it’s the perfect time to pause, reflect, and recharge. This season reminds us that the greatest gifts are not under the tree but around it—family, friends, and the connections that enrich our lives. For those of us in HR, this is also a time to reflect on the invaluable contributions of our teams and the culture we foster every day. From navigating challenges to celebrating successes, our collective efforts shape workplaces where people feel valued and supported. As we close the year, let’s focus on what truly matters: Celebrate Wins – Whether it’s a new milestone, a successful hire, or a cultural initiative, acknowledge the progress made this year. Cherish Connections – Strengthen the relationships that make our personal and professional lives meaningful. Recharge – A rested mind and heart lay the foundation for new opportunities and a stronger year ahead. To all the HR professionals and leaders: Let’s remember that prioritizing well-being—our own and that of our teams—is not just essential but transformative. What are you most looking forward to this holiday season? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Wishing you all a wonderful and restful holiday season.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow - a much needed break after having to postpone it from earlier in the year due to circumstances beyond anyone's control! But that got me thinking about how other business leaders treat holidays? Do you completely switch off? Are you in frequent contact with the office? Occasional contact? Or not at all? I know 100% that no-one from my team will be on contact with me when I am away. Perhaps if a site burnt down they may be, but not otherwise. In fact, I learned very early on in my business career, that holidays were a good opportunity for people to grow. Give someone else one of my normal tasks whilst I am away, and they generally did a great job. So much so, that they could keep it permanently when I got back. One less thing for me to do. Win-win. It comes down to how much you trust your people. So, how many times do you contact people from your business when away? Every day? Every other day? Once a week? Or not at all? Let me know. (I hope it's the latter!)

We’re here—the final full work week of the year. The holidays are just around the corner, and the finish line is in sight. This is the time to show what we’re made of by staying focused, working safely, and finishing strong. No matter your role, you have the power to lead, inspire, and set the tone. Stay in the game, and don’t let the rush to wrap things up cloud your judgment. Each of us has a responsibility to do it right—for ourselves, our teams, and the people waiting for us at home. Rushing through the finish line can lead to mistakes, injuries, or worse. Instead, let’s double-check our steps, look out for one another, and make every decision count. Safe work today ensures a safe holiday next week. Challenge yourself: Who are you working for today? Picture them. Work like their happiness depends on your choices—because it does. Let’s close out 2024 with pride, knowing we stayed sharp, stayed safe, and delivered on everything this year has thrown at us. We’ve got this—let’s finish like champions and go home safe to celebrate what truly matters.

Wishing all Mosaic Partners contacts, clients and colleagues a very happy Easter, especially to those who respect the ancient or alternative meaning of this national holiday. Same to those who will be searching for the chocolate-hiding bunny or who are desperately hoping that customers return during the fast-improving weather. Best of the season for anyone needing the Spring break, simply delighting in the circle of nature and life. Also, relaxing thoughts for those of you just happy for some structured time off work, usually paid for by employers (which everyone, regardless of their differences, should be equally grateful for). Holidays like this are a timely reminder that it is eminently possible to live and let live, that we can offer mutual respect to those with different perspectives, without imposing cancel culture on others, especially when their beliefs and norms are important parts of the bedrock of a team, organisation or even a nation state. Last, but far from least, spare a thought for the good people in comms and HR who walk that fine line in increasingly diverse and inclusive organisations daily. They often hold us all together without recognition or praise. Respect and peace to you and yours! #Easter #leadership #communication #HR

Excited for this year's Booz Allen Hamilton holiday parties! 🎉 A huge thank you to our executive leadership, Kristine Anderson and Matthew Calderone, for continuing this wonderful tradition! These events not only bring us together to celebrate our collective achievements, but also strengthen the bonds that make our team exceptional. Looking forward to connecting with colleagues and reflecting on another successful year. Here's to many more years of camaraderie and celebration! More on my thoughts regarding Holiday Parties below: 🎄 Corporate Holiday Parties: More Than Just Festive Gatherings 🎉 As the year winds down, businesses often find themselves balancing priorities: closing the fiscal year strong or taking time to celebrate with employees. While profits are crucial, holiday parties serve a purpose that no bottom line can quantify—building culture, fostering connection, and showing appreciation. Here’s why they matter: ✅ Team Bonding: A relaxed setting encourages colleagues to connect beyond work, strengthening relationships and trust that fuel collaboration. ✅ Employee Appreciation: Recognizing the hard work of your team shows you value their efforts, boosting morale and retention. ✅ Cultural Investment: A positive workplace culture is priceless. Holiday celebrations remind employees they’re part of something bigger than their individual roles. ✅ Mental Health Boost: After a year of deadlines and challenges, a moment to celebrate can refresh and rejuvenate your team for the new year ahead. Ultimately, happy, appreciated employees drive success. Investing in their well-being and camaraderie might not show on a balance sheet, but it shows in productivity, loyalty, and innovation.
