Insights from Talent Acquisition I recently enjoyed reconnecting with one of the best Talent Acquisition professionals I know - someone who truly stands out in an already incredible ecosystem. Here’s what they shared about their approach in 2024: Clear Communication: Job postings include precise titles, detailed descriptions, and screening questions that clearly outline role requirements. Strategic Timelines: Publishing durations are short, focused on balancing volume with quality talent pipelines. Proactive Sourcing: Direct sourcing and networking remain essential as ever for discovering niche talent and companies need a compelling and substantiated ‘story.’ Empathy Over Bias: Employment gaps, layoffs and ‘green banners’ are not automatically pre-judged, and relevant candidates are evaluated on their current potential. No Bot Barriers: There’s no ATS bot reviewing and rejecting candidates. Respectful Rejections: Candidates are treated professionally, with rejections communicated via email or call depending on the stage they have reached. Feedback is vital but for candidates that don't get beyond application it’s going to a timely tailored bulk rejection email. Sounds like a great candidate experience approach? Yes, but they also raised a massive challenge… Volume: Even with all these measures, irrelevant applications are at an all-time high and can be overwhelming. Despite best intentions and whilst actively avoided by many TA professionals, that ‘noise’ does have a potentially significant negative impact, opening the door to mistakes and oversights - and ultimately an unintentional bad candidate experience.
