The mantra here is continually being proven wrong. Yet I see none of the stakeholders in the LGD industry taking a stance. Why is that? Where are you LGD industry voices? Should you rely on voices like mine to fight your fight for you? Will you attend the Rappaport meetings in Vegas to take a stand as these misconceptions are repeated ad nauseum without rebuttal? Is what Rappaport claiming true? Will LGD be nothing more than an option to CZ and Crystal? Did GIA lie when they declared LGD to be equivalent to a mined diamond except for the man made process and some slightly detectable characteristics? Or is LGD an option for new consumers to the diamond industry? Or do you watch as they seek to destroy your investment? Where are you?

Selfridges are a brand that I consider as being pretty ‘on it’ when it comes to their #sustainability initiatives and awareness… However when I received this order today I questioned it. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the little pouch that my order came with, but my mascara was already packed inside a secondary pack, inside a box 6x larger than needed and stuffed with tissue, is this cotton pouch necessary? I do a lot of work focussed on increasing #luxury and #premium perceptions for brands, and Selfridges is both of those things but at what point do we need to take a step back and consider how we can do that with #sustainability and the #environment in mind. There are so many ways you can do this! #Brandexperience is important as is and retaining your image… but my image of Selfridges as consciously minded (within the context of fashion which we know is not particularly sustainable) has now been somewhat dampened
