World Food Safety Day 2024 is a time to reflect on the critical importance of food safety for public health, economic development, and global sustainability. This year’s theme underlines the importance of being prepared for food safety incidents, no matter how mild or severe they can be. Food safety incidents are situations where there is a potential or confirmed health risk associated with food consumption. Such incidents can be as simple as a power outage at home and the subsequent challenges in storing food safely. On the other end of the scale, international food safety alerts involve contamination or potential contamination within the food supply, the origins of which have to be identified as quickly as possible to avert an outbreak of illness. In such situations, data collection and rapid information exchange across borders and sectors help to prevent the spread of foodborne disease. The World Food Safety Day campaign this year invites participants to look at ways they can better prepare for such unexpected food safety events. Remember, everyone is a risk manager: from individuals to businesses and governments, we must evaluate food safety risks as part of our daily choices. Happy World Food Safety Day 2024!! #food #safety #health

🌍🍽️ Celebrating World Food Safety Day! 🍽️🌍 Today, we shine a spotlight on the importance of food safety, a critical aspect of public health that affects us all. 🚫🤒 Foodborne illnesses pose significant risks, causing millions of cases of illness and hundreds of thousands of deaths each year globally. The impact on our health systems and economies is substantial, but more importantly, these illnesses are often preventable. 📜🔍 Robust food safety regulations and standards are essential to protect public health. These guidelines ensure that food products are safe from production to consumption, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety at every stage of the food supply chain. 🧼🥡 Practicing safe food handling is vital to prevent contamination. Simple actions like washing hands, cooking food thoroughly, and avoiding cross-contamination can make a big difference in reducing foodborne diseases. 🤝🏢 Governments, industries, and consumers all have pivotal roles in ensuring food safety. Governments must enforce regulations and provide education, industries need to adhere to standards and innovate safer practices, and consumers must stay informed and practice safe food habits. 🌐🔬 As we progress, emerging food safety challenges like climate change, new pathogens, and evolving food production techniques demand our attention and action. 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙! Food security is when all people have access to sufficient food to lead productive lives. But is food availability and accessibility enough? An equally important component of food security is 𝙁𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝙎𝘼𝙁𝙀𝙏𝙔! This means that even if there's enough food available (a secure food supply), it's not enough if that food is contaminated or unsafe for consumption. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙁𝘼𝙊) stated that more than 600 million people fall ill, and 4,20,000 die yearly after eating contaminated food, with over 200 diseases identified as foodborne. These illnesses and deaths can be prevented if food safety is prioritised along the food chain, from the producer to the consumer. This means that no matter who you are or what you do, you are essential in ensuring food safety. This #WorldFoodSafetyDay, let us remember that food safety is a collective responsibility between governments, producers, and consumers. Let us do our part by learning to evaluate food safety as part of our daily choices or being more aware of food safety standards and practices. Similarly, let us learn to ask why we can't have pharma-grade testing and quality control for the food on our plates. At Ella Foods , we firmly believe that food needs to be handled precisely like a drug, adhering to the highest safety and quality regulations. Therefore, we use the cleanroom concept that leaves no space for contamination, ensuring that every product is safe, hygienic, and packed with all the natural nutrients and goodness of age-old recipes. #WorldFoodSafetyDay #FoodSafety - #FoodSecuritygohandinhand #EllaFoods #QualityFirst
