For those who still think #sxsw2024 is only a Willie, weed and music event think again. In two days we’ve heard Doug Beck, Director, Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), the #SECARMY (Christine Wormuth) and GEN Rainey speak about innovation adoption, deep tech, novel tech and importance of all three as it relates to the #usarmy and joint force’s competitive advantage vis-à-vis our adversaries. Good to see Doug Beck at ribbon cutting of the Joint Innovation Center of Gravity in the Capital Factory. We are at the dawn of disruption in the defense sector. More and more nontraditional defense companies and startups are nipping at the traditional defense primes. The barriers to entry are being mitigated by deliberate government policy and law.
