Exciting news from Madagascar! SATO Pans and Stools are now available for purchase at 11 retailers in the capital city of Antananarivo. These 11 shops are taking part in a sales trial as part of SATO's expansion into Madagascar through the work of the Partnership for Better Living, LIXIL's cooperative agreement with USAID See one of the retailers participating in the trial below, alongside SATO's Madagascar Business Development Manager, @Nicole Andriamampianina. Through this initial trial, organized with our local agency, Constellation Group, we are testing sales to inform future marketing and demand generation efforts throughout the country. As just 12% of people in Madagascar have access to basic sanitation, we are working hard to ensure consumers have affordable, water-saving, and easy-to-install toilet options for their homes and communities. For more information about our work in Madagascar, please get in touch with the Partnership for Better Living team: pbl-sato@lixil.com. #Madagascar #BetterLifeEveryDay #WASH

Observing the impact of Ramadan on businesses in Tanzania has been eye-opening. With over one-third of the population being Muslim, the changes are significant. - Restaurants are emptier during the day but become completely packed at 6:30 when it's allowed to eat. - The smartest one have implemented sharing tables to reduce wait times and crazy serving hassle af 6:30pm. - Clubbing and smoking businesses have seen a decline. Although having less work may not be that bad, it's interesting to see how Ramadan affects different types of businesses. Eid al-Fitr is tomorrow, and we're looking forward to life returning to its previous manner. #RamadanObservations #EidMubarak

Major Coffee Processing Facility Enhances Tanzanian Coffee Sector 🇹🇿🥁 We installed and supplied a 5-tonne-per-hour green coffee mill for Cotacof Tanzania. The main Features of the Green Coffee Mill are: ✅Intake, ✅Gravity table, ✅Color sorter ✅blending line components. The installation marked a significant step in boosting processing efficiency and product consistency, aligning with the needs of Tanzania’s coffee industry, which produces an average of 30,000 to 40,000 metric tons of coffee annually. Tanzania is recognized as a major coffee producer in Africa, with 70% of its coffee exports derived from Arabica beans cultivated in high-altitude regions like Kilimanjaro and Mbeya. Smallholder farmers make up 90% of production, and the sector faces challenges, including fluctuating global prices and climate impacts. However, demand for Tanzanian specialty coffee is rising in markets like the U.S. and Europe, bringing both opportunities and competition for producers.🚀 This new installation aimed to support quality control and processing capacity, helping meet the demands of Tanzania’s expanding coffee export. Pre-booking for 2024 Burundi Harvest is now live! Unfamiliar with the concept? Pre-booking coffee secures a conditional contract for containers now as opposed to later on in the year, when a container isn’t a guarantee. Remember, purchasing coffee isn’t just “buying coffee”, it builds relationships. We value transparency and fairness—That means you won’t get low-scoring lots when you have agreed on high-scoring ones. This year we created a streamlined process that allows you to inquire about coffee depending on your needs. Head to this link https://lnkd.in/gmpDDBNw to begin your inquiry to secure your Burundian Green Coffee from this year's harvest. —— #SpecialtyCoffee #GreenCoffee #CoffeeCulture #Coffee #CoffeeProducer #CoffeeProducers #GreenCoffeeProducer #SingleOrigin #SustainableCoffee #BurundiCoffee #KenyanCoffee #UgandanCoffee #EastAfricanCoffee #SpecialtyCoffeeRoaster #UKSpecialtyCoffeeRoaster #SpecialtyCoffeeAsia #SpecialtyCoffeeMiddleEast
