“B.Com suna hai. Mass comm kya hai?” This is what one of my B-school peers asked me when we were introducing ourselves. Surely, a B-school is a place where people from multiple disciplines converge. But, that my undergrad domain is such an outlier that it is relatively unknown in broader circles, gives me mixed feelings. Previously too, I’ve been asked why I decided to pivot from a career in media to pursue management education, given it’s not very common. I believe that not everyone has their career trajectory figured out from an early age. In fact, I find it very hard to understand how some people manage to have a crystal-clear clarity about their careers from even before their undergrad years. For me, it has always been a function of my own understanding and maturity. As is expected from someone exposed to changing worldviews, my outlook towards life when I’m 25 is not the same as it was when I was 18. So, a career choice that seemed optimum then might not feel as conducive now. Hence, a career pivot doesn’t get me worked up too much. I’m embracing the journey that lies ahead, and have decided to put my best foot forward. Of course, amidst it all, I’ll do myself the favour of not forgetting my privileges. I’ve been privileged enough to try things out for myself, which everyone might not have the liberty to. So, in conclusion, I firmly believe you should give yourself chances, while counting your blessings at the same time. If everything doesn’t make sense at the moment, I’d say it’s a good thing. You’ll have a reason to get out of bed tomorrow. 😌 ------------------- Third day at International Management Institute - IMI, New Delhi 👇

𝘿𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙚 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙮𝙚 ✨ The wait is over, the dream has unfolded. I've finally stepped into Delhi University's College, but life's twists made the journey unforgettable. The butterflies in my stomach, the sleepless nights, and the relentless preparation for CUET – it all seemed worth it when I dreamed of SRCC. But life had other plans. Scoring 657/800, I thought my dreams were shattered. Rejection in Rounds 1-3 felt like a relentless storm. Tears, doubts, and fear crept in. "Is this the end?" I wondered. There were moments when I questioned my abilities, my hard work, and my passion. But Mom's unwavering faith and love revived me: "You'll make it, beta. Don't lose hope." 🫂 Her words echoed in my mind, fueling my determination. And then, Spot Round 1 brought a ray of sunshine 🌻; "*Dear candidate, you've been allocated a seat.*" Overwhelmed with emotion 🥹, I realized: SRCC wasn't the only path to success. My preferred course will be my real prize. Self-growth would define my journey. As I step into DU, I promise myself: 🍁 To cherish every moment. 🍁To learn, unlearn, and grow. 🍁To make my family proud. 🍁To find my true potential. 🍁To build lifelong connections. To those struggling, I say: 📌 Don't let rejections define you. 📌 Hold onto hope. 📌 Believe in yourself. And to my fellow DU freshmen: Welcome to this new chapter! Let's grow together. Let's learn from each other. Let's make our mark. “ Enjoy the journey and try to get better every day." The past five months, full of experiences and challenges have highly contributed to not only my professional growth but also to my personal growth. The Soft Skill classes at Lovely Professional University (LPU) have been an important game changer. First, I want to express my gratitude to Shambhavi Singh ma'am, who has mentored me, and my dear classmates Tarun, Utkarsh Dhull and Arimardan Singh Rajawat who have contributed to my adaptation. Here are some of the learning outcomes of this journey: Effective communication skills: How to act during presentations, interviews, and group discussions. Fighting Anxiety: Practicing in front of people has helped me overcome this anxiety that I was struggling with. Networking Skills: Building and maintaining professional relationships, and leveraging connections to grow my career and knowledge base. Teamwork and Collaboration: Working well with others in a team environment, being open to diverse perspectives, and contributing constructively. Professionalism: The grooming and the behavior in the workplace, how to interact with colleagues and employers. Initiative and leadership: Being able to make the first step, and to handle situations as a leader. Looking forward to increasing and developing my knowledge through this journey at Lovely Professional University. Grateful to be here, because I know that every day I am going to learn something new, and grow as a person.

I couldn't get a seat in DU M.Sc. Stats? But I cracked an off-campus job! Life doesn’t always go as planned, but perseverance pays off! This year, I aimed to secure a seat in the M.Sc. Statistics program at Delhi University. However, despite my efforts, I couldn't get a spot due to high cutoffs in the general category. Last year, I had initially set my sights on M.Sc. Operations Research, but the syllabus changes and the introduction of CUET led to disappointing results. While juggling ISI preparation and college exams, I decided to pivot and focus on gaining experience. I secured a job at Blu Parrot in January 2024, but after encouragement from family and friends, I resigned in February to pursue my M.Sc. aspirations again. I studied hard and managed decent marks, but I was left without a seat when August rolled around. Undeterred, I began my job search in September, and I’m thrilled to share that I finally landed a job! After two years, I’ve made a decision to ensure my package exceeds the average package of master's students. This journey has taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability. Sometimes, unexpected paths lead to great opportunities. Looking forward to this new chapter!
