Growing Together: The Importance of Surrounding Yourself with the Right People As a new English teacher, it’s essential to surround yourself with people who help you grow, both professionally and personally. I’ve been fortunate to work alongside incredible colleagues like Majdi, Jabir, Alaa, and Marwan (though he’s not pictured here). Each of them has been instrumental in my development, offering honest feedback, challenging me to improve, and supporting me through my teaching journey. Being part of a team that is committed to helping each other grow has been invaluable. Their insights have helped me sharpen my teaching skills and refine my approach in the classroom. Having people who correct your mistakes and encourage you to keep pushing forward is key to becoming a better educator. Now, I’m eager to pass this on by training new English teachers, offering guidance, and creating a space for constructive feedback. Together, we can build a strong foundation for professional growth. #TeacherGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #EnglishTeaching #MentorshipMatters #NewTeachers #TeamSupport #ESL #FeedbackCulture #ContinuousImprovement #TeachingJourney

💧You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop. ~Rumi 🔑 Rumi’s quote can be a powerful source of inspiration for English learners, particularly in emphasizing the importance of their individual potential and the unique contributions they bring to the learning process. 📘 Emerging English learners often face challenges that can make them feel small or overwhelmed, like just one drop in a vast ocean of language and cultural barriers. 📝Rumi’s quote serves as a reminder that each student carries within them an immense capacity for growth, learning, and success. 💙Just as a single drop reflects the entire ocean, each learner has the potential to master a new language and contribute richly to the world around them. 🚀This perspective encourages students to see themselves not as limited by their current abilities but as full of potential and capable of achieving their goals. #education #inspiration #educators #languages #leadership

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗘𝗙𝗟 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 One of the most fulfilling aspects of this career has been helping learners master the English language. As a 𝗧𝗘𝗙𝗟-𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿, I have the unique opportunity to teach individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, tailoring lessons to their specific needs and learning styles. Teaching English as a Foreign Language is not just about imparting grammar rules or expanding vocabulary. It’s about breaking language barriers, building bridges of understanding, and equipping learners with the tools they need to excel in a globalized world. From young children discovering their first English words to adults perfecting their professional communication, I’ve learned that education is more than instruction—it’s a partnership that fosters confidence, growth, and connection. This journey has taught me patience, adaptability and the value of lifelong learning. Seeing my students’ progress in their careers or personal lives, brings a sense of accomplishment that motivates me to keep evolving. If you’ve experienced the joys (and challenges!) of language learning or teaching, I’d love to hear your story. Let’s connect and inspire each other! #Day3 #14daysvisibilitywithuduak #SkillHighlight #TEFL #Education #LanguageLearning #ProfessionalGrowth #LifelongLearning

Learning is a lifelong process. If I could imagine any sphere of life at all where you can learn a skill once and just use it forever with no need of change or improvement, a foreign language would never be the one! Changes happen in every aspect of a language, as well as approaches to learning and teaching it. #learning #motivation #englishteacher

I've often been described as "determined." In fact, this word has appeared in nearly every performance review I've received—and even in my husband's wedding speech! Recently, I've been reflecting on what sparked this (clearly) dominant personality trait. A standout moment was during my Year 8 parents' evening when my Science teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. At the time, I hadn't given it much thought, so I offered a generic and slightly uninspiring answer. His response was simple but impactful: "Aim higher… you might just get there." Science didn’t turn out to be my strong point, but that sentiment has stayed with me ever since. This is why I'm so passionate about the Pearson English Language Teacher Awards launching today. It’s not just a great marketing initiative (credit to the amazing Thomas Gardner Sophie Quarterman) but also a chance to recognize and celebrate the incredible role teachers play in shaping lives. It’s true what they say—a great teacher makes all the difference! Nominate your teacher, a peer, or an inspiring ELL educator you know today: https://lnkd.in/eH2tXTkQ And if you don’t work in the English Language Learning world, I’d love to hear your stories on how great teachers have inspired you! #Education #TeachingHeroes #LanguageLearning #PearsonEnglishTeacherAward #PearsonLanguages

Looking Back, Moving Forward: My Journey Teaching Future Educators at university. As I prepare to kick off my second year teaching English Language and English Didactics to pre-service teachers at ISEAH Sbeitla, I'm taking a moment to reflect on the past year—and what a journey it has been! From navigating the balance between theory and practice to ensuring my students left class feeling empowered to become confident educators, this role has pushed me to grow in ways I hadn’t expected. There were days when adapting to diverse learning needs and finding innovative ways to engage students in meaningful discussions felt like a challenge—but also an opportunity. Here are a few key lessons I've learned: ✅ Adaptability is key: whether adjusting lesson plans on the fly or introducing new technology, staying flexible has been critical to keeping the learning experience relevant and engaging. ✅ Collaboration is essential: building an interactive classroom where future educators feel comfortable exchanging ideas has enriched not only their learning experience but also mine. ✅ Lifelong learning never stops: every class, every conversation has reminded me that teaching is as much about learning from my students as it is about imparting knowledge. As I step into year two, I’m excited to continue developing my teaching approach and contributing to the success of the next generation of educators. Let’s see where this journey takes us! #teaching #education #lifelonglearning #teacherdevelopment #englishlanguage
