DAY 2 How I started Event planning and hosting for me is a skill that involves organizing, coordinating, and executing events to ensure they run smoothly and meet the expectations of attendees. It requires excellent organizational abilities, creativity, communication skills, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively…and all these I can handle?🤭 The first time I exhibited my event planning and hosting skill was when my course mates approached me to organize a hangout for our department. Recognizing me as a social individual ,Dancer and an entertainer, they believed I was the right person to create an enjoyable and stress-relieving event. And of course I did.well it was good because Through the event planning and hosting efforts, I realized that we have been able to address several significant issues within our department such as -I helped bridge gaps between course mates by creating an inclusive environment where everyone felt welcome and valued. This fostered a sense of community and belonging. -I encouraged people to interact more, breaking down barriers and encouraging new friendships. -I introduced lively and entertaining elements to the events, (it was actually game based so everyone could be a participant)transforming the department's social atmosphere from dull to vibrant and dynamic.🤭 -Morale Building:By showing that it is possible to have a morally sound and enjoyable party, I demonstrated that we could balance fun with respect and decency, setting a positive example for future events. Looking ahead, I aim to build a career in event planning and hosting, leveraging my talent for bringing people together, creating memorable experiences, and Organizing well organized events ❤️ Thank you and Journey with me! #JCINIGERIA #JCINCOLLEGIATE #LINKEDINGROWTHCHALLENGE #BRANDDEVELOPMENT #SEE #PARADIGMSHIFT

When Ticketmaster guest speakers joined us to share their stories, one message stood out: Get involved, stay adaptable and say yes to opportunities! Hearing from their team about managing 500 million annual ticket sales, operating in 37 countries, having over 1 billion website visitors and delivering 370+ events this summer alone, it’s clear that behind every incredible event is a hardworking, adaptable team. Scott Pountney, Head of Event Delivery (UK) Scott’s 10 years of experience in event IT taught him the value of being hands-on. From setting up scanning equipment to managing high-pressure logistics, he emphasised that every experience counts and knowledge of temporary events got him his current role. Jon Hancock, Director of Field Operations Jon’s role showed us how important relationships are. Coordinating between clients, venues, and ground teams, he reminded us that communication is key to delivering seamless events. Claire Howarth, Client Account Manager With 8 years at Ticketmaster, Claire explained the different paths of Ticketmaster; System Venue's who use their booking system for the event and then where a venue doesn't use their booking system but gives an allocation of tickets to sell. Her journey showed us how problem-solving and understanding client needs can open doors in any career. Chloe Churchill, Client Support Assistant Chloe’s story resonated with us students the most, starting as a box office assistant during summer 2022, she grew into her current role by building relationships and saying yes to opportunities. Employers value adaptability and experience over perfection. Whether it’s volunteering, interning, or taking on part-time roles, every opportunity builds the skills and confidence you’ll need in the future. Hearing about the fast-paced world of live events reminded us that success isn’t just about talent, it’s about showing up, learning on the go, and embracing challenges. Thanks to the team at Ticketmaster for showing us that behind every great event is a group of passionate people who make the magic happen and I hope one day I can get involved! No one likes a bubble burster! But sometimes, that's exactly what I have to be. My favorite parts of client meetings, especially initial calls with the entire team, is the true outside-the-box thinking and ideation. The pie-in-the-sky, "no-way-we-could-pull-it-off-but..." suggestions. When it comes time for execution, I have to get my proverbial pin out, and ask questions about the reality of bringing these ideas to life. I have to ask questions like: "How will this affect our budget?" "Who can we partner with to get this done?" "How does this idea align with our specific goals and objectives for this event, or the organization as a whole?" "Do we have time within the confines of our conference to add an offsite excursion?" "How many vehicles will we need to transport the group?" "Will we need permits/licenses/permission/a police escort for this activity?" There are some ideas that reality will push to the side, whether it's because of budget, location, resources, or timing...or, something completely out of our control. Most of the time though, those questions lead to a real discussion about the feasibility of an idea, and I help to bring the idea to life before the Client's very eyes! Remember: our job as event planners is to bring your ideas to life! It's our job to ask the hard questions to make sure that your vision can be realized, exactly as you pictured.

Which Is More Challenging: Formal or Informal Hosting? Do you think formal hosting is the trickier task, or is it informal hosting? 🤔 As a hosting head during my university days, I managed a wide range of events—from formal events like international conferences and orientation days to lively gatherings such as musical events. From my experience, formal events require a high level of professionalism. It’s not just about reading a script; you have to deliver a clear message and keep the audience engaged. I’ve seen firsthand how even the most polished presentations can lead to bored attendees if not done right. Informal events, on the other hand, demand a different kind of energy and creativity to keep everyone lively and involved. It’s about creating an atmosphere where people stay engaged and have a great time. Both types of events have their own set of challenges, and they’ve all contributed to my skills in communication and audience engagement, which I bring into my role in Employer Branding and Communications. So, what’s your take on hosting? Do you find keeping things formal or ensuring the crowd stays engaged more challenging? Share your thoughts in the comments! #LinkedIn #Personalbranding #communications #hosting #airuniversity

Planning is hard..... Am sure you will be wondering, what kind of planning am talking about Well, it is Event planning; while growing up I love anything organizing, making sure family functions or outsiders event goes well While in university (200L) , I got an opportunity to join an event company , undergo the training and I got selected, boom my journey started I was up and doing, eager to learn, paying attention to details, my boss took interest in me , always travelling with her for inter-state event ,then my passion for events grew stronger Then I hear them say , planning is not easy, it's hard, takes time ,money, energy Me as a person I love difficult things 😁 so I can learn , I want to know exactly why it's difficult That was how I began to make my own research on event planning, I register for event training academy so I can be certified Majorly I will say I learnt from people by asking questions and working alongside with them After university I wanted to make something out of myself, I thought to start my own event gradually and still learn from other people but I kept on procrastinating, trying to put things in place with the fear of "what if" My beloved I started my event journey, then I realized it's not as hard they painted it for me For some people it's, but for me , I totally zero my mind so I can be intentional about what am doing I got my first event planning job from a friend , because she knows how much energy I use to talk about my passion Yes event planning has its own forthcoming, hazard and all ,likewise white collar job but there's always a way to go about it , right??? But the point is , START implementing now !!! Don't procrastinate it ,no job is easy , don't have the mindset that "THE JOB IS HARD" The only solution to hard things is CONSISTENCY For the next few days I'll be discussing on event plans #50daysconsistencychallengewithtife #eventplanning #eventmanagement

More training today ready for going live in the best new venue in town (and the biggest in the UK, 3rd biggest in Europe I believe)! Stepping into a new event control room team is like embarking on an exciting adventure. Sure, there are challenges ahead, but there's also the promise of building something incredible together. As we gather in this incredible new space, our priorities are clear: teamwork, communication, and trust. Why? Because these elements will form the backbone of our success. When we work together seamlessly, sharing insights, ideas, and responsibilities, we're not just managing events; we're orchestrating unforgettable experiences for our fans direct from the beating heart of the venue. But it's not just about the tasks at hand. It's about the people - the amazing colleagues who I hope will soon become friends. There's something special about forging bonds in the midst of action, overcoming obstacles, and celebrating victories together and then being able to extend that to the wider venue team. I'm genuinely excited to embark on this journey and I know that we'll all bring our unique strengths to the table, support one another, and create an environment where camaraderie thrives. Together, our team will not only excel in our roles but also make lasting memories that extend far beyond the event control room. Here's to teamwork, friendship, and the incredible journey ahead! 🚀 #EventControlRoom #Teamwork #NewBeginnings
