You don't have to be a scientist. In order to understand enough science to overtake or imagined need and fill that fancy gap, science needs to be released from the lab. Into the culture.

Some of the world’s hardest problems require cooperation between industry and academia, two sectors that often have very different approaches to innovation. That's why it is a pleasure for me to join the EmTech MIT for the fourth time. I always learn a lot from great leaders from all over the world.
This time, I am participating as a guest, and I am looking forward to updating my emerging technologies and global trends radar.

Last week, COMBINE consortium member grit42 announced that it would offer the grit Scientific Data Management Platform for free!
Sign up to be notified upon its release in 2025: https://lnkd.in/ewejHqU9
Why is this important?
Open-Sourced Platforms ensure:
- Enhanced Collaboration and Data Accessibility: grit42 removes a financial barrier and opens the door for more researchers and institutions to engage in collaborative AMR research.
- Sustainable Research Progress: free access to the grit platform ensures that ongoing projects can benefit from a robust data management solution without allocating additional funds to license fees beyond the projects' lifetime.
- Promoting Open Science and Innovation: grit42's platform can foster an ecosystem where innovations can build upon each other, helping AMR researchers to develop and test new solutions faster.

The Era of Open Innovation
Charles Leadbeater's concept of open innovation is highly relevant to the MedTech, pharma, and healthcare industries because it encourages collaboration beyond traditional research labs. In these sectors, open innovation can drive faster development of medical devices, drugs, and healthcare solutions by involving a broader range of contributors, including patients, healthcare professionals, startups, and research institutions. Integrating shared knowledge and decentralized innovation helps tackle complex challenges like drug discovery, personalized medicine, and digital health advancements, accelerating innovation in the healthcare ecosystem.
When I watched Charles Leadbeater's TED Talk, The Era of Open Innovation, I could see that he explores how innovation is no longer limited to corporations or institutions but can come from anywhere, driven by collaboration and shared knowledge. He highlights the role of grassroots innovators and the power of communities in creating breakthroughs. This is even more feasible today with advancements in technology, global connectivity, and the rise of open-source platforms. These changes enable individuals across the globe to collaborate, innovate, and solve problems collectively on a massive scale.
