I saw this in @Nature and thought we have lost the plot. Why does everything have to have a human-directed purpose? Can’t we just enjoy house plants for the joy of it? French biotech startup Neoplants just launched its first air-purifying house plant in the US. The bioengineered plants can, according to the company, replace 20 regular plants in terms of air-cleaning power. New Post: Meet the Finnish biotech startup bringing a long lost mycoprotein to your plate - https://lnkd.in/gmyMMaDT - The best known mycoprotein is probably Quorn, a meat substitute that’s fast approaching its 40th birthday. But Finnish biotech startup Enifer is cooking up something even older: Its proprietary single-cell fungus-based protein, branded Pekilo, was originally developed in the 1960s and ’70s — by, of all things, the local paper industry.
