Do agencies ask enough questions in a new business pitch? I’m a questioner by nature. This is not to be confused with being a skeptic. I ask questions from a sense of wonder and curiosity more than suspicion. I just like to know stuff about people and things! Maybe that’s helped me become a good business development person. And I think sharpening your questioning skills can make you a better business developer too. It’s that dreaded question that makes many of us sweat. You’re at a networking event, sitting next to someone on a flight, or meeting new people at a dinner party. And someone asks, “So...what do you do?” What’s your response? *That's* your elevator pitch. But mine rarely got off the ground, let alone making it to the top floor. That is, until about a year ago when I discovered the 5Cs Structure. It gave me the clarity I was looking for to punch up my pitch and deliver it with confidence. Although we’ve refined our messaging a few times since then, the structure has remained constant. And our current pitch has created the breakthrough we’d been looking for. So, last month, I thought I would share—and test—the 5Cs with select clients who needed help with their elevator pitches. And the feedback and results have been amazing. So much so that I thought I’d share the 5Cs Structure with you—to, hopefully, save you the four years it took me to *finally* fix my pitch. You want to start a business? Do this 👇🏻 Change the way you pitch your offer. 99% of the biz owners: – Just talk about what they do – Keep pitching without a direction – Constantly try to convince people Here’s what you should be doing instead: 1. Start by understanding their problems – What keeps them up at night? – What’s their burning problem? – What are the triggers? 2. Sell your offer with a story – Write down your story – Pick out your “WHY” – Add it to your offer Ex: I quit my 9-5 as a burntout mum to spend time with my daughter. Now I help other mums do the same ❤ 3. Practice before you pitch – Read your pitch aloud – Record yourself & analyse – Put yourself at the receiving end Be the 1 person who cares. Not 1 in 100 who sends sales pitches. Now get back to work my boss ladies 🫶🏻 P.S. Which of the above (1-3) are you already doing?

If you’ve finessed your sales pitch but you’re still struggling to convert, you might be doing this one thing... Agency owners often say their elevator pitch with "we do X, Y, Z but we don’t do A, B, C." All I heard was what you DON'T do… Here’s a better approach to your sales pitch → 1. Position yourself as an expert for SOMEONE and a specialist at SOMETHING that solves a specific PROBLEM. If you can’t say it that simply, you need to niche down. 2. Have stories (proof) ready to go. Real results, business growth…not vanity metrics that YOU care about. What are the metrics your client cares about? If you’re not staying on top of how your work ultimately impacts your clients’ businesses, you’re choosing to be a commodity. And that’s why you’re stuck negotiating your rates down every time. 3. Know why your business was built the way it was. Everything about your business should be because it allows you to deliver a better service to your clients. Big team, small team, your processes, your style…all should be because that is what is best for your clients. Be able to speak to that. So scratch the “but we don’t do…” from your pitch and just talk about what you do really well, share the proof, and frame your business as designed with intention. I've got your butt covered. 😂 Running a business can leave you feeling...exposed. Every day you're trying to: - Find new clients - Book more calls - Write better pitches - Close bigger deals It's exhausting. It's overwhelming. And sometimes it feels like you're just showing your whole...self to the world. That's why I wrote Pitch Slap. Because getting clients on LinkedIn shouldn't be a knock-out fight. It shouldn't leave you bruised and beaten. It shouldn't make you feel exposed. It should be effortless. Natural. Maybe even fun. So if you're tired of: ❌Cold outreach that gets ignored ❌Sales pitches that fall flat ❌Methods that just don't work Let me cover your butt. (Sorry, had to say it one more time 😂)

🚀 Do you make your elevator pitch all about you…or all about your prospects?? 🚀 Just like Elle Wood’s introduction to her classmates in Legally Blonde, it’s easy to fall into the trap of just highlighting how great you and your business are! I see many focus solely on their length of time in business, their awards, the size of their time etc. But to be brutally honest…your prospects don’t care! When crafting your elevator pitch, remember: it’s not about you, it’s about them! 🗣️✨ 🔑 Key to Success: Focus on your prospect’s needs and how you can solve their problems. Highlight the benefits they will gain, not just your achievements. 💡 What’s in it for them? This is the question you need to answer. Show them the value you bring to their table. Make it clear, concise, and compelling. 🌟 Why it Matters: People are more likely to engage when they see how it benefits them. A prospect-centered pitch builds trust and shows you understand their challenges. So next time you pitch, flip the script and make it all about them! 🎯 #ElevatorPitch #SalesTips #CustomerFirst #ValueProposition #Networking #coldcalling #coldcallingqueen #sales #salestips #thepromodonna

Why some client pitches fall flat, even when you think you nailed it? A great pitch isn’t about how much you say—it’s about how much you listen. Most of time when people start they keep on thinking to say everything they know but actuallly it don't work all the time and we understand this by the time. Too often, we leave client meetings feeling frustrated, thinking, “They weren’t listening to me!” But here’s the catch: Were we truly listening to them? Clients don’t just want solutions; they want to feel heard, understood, and valued. By focusing on their pain points and showing empathy, we build trust—and trust is what closes deals, not fancy words. In fact, listening intently can do 80% of the heavy lifting in any pitch. Why? Because when a client feels understood, half the selling is already done. Next time you pitch, try this: -Ask insightful questions. -Actively listen without interrupting. -Repeat their pain points back to them to show you “get it.” Because the secret to closing more deals isn’t speaking louder; it’s listening better. What’s your go-to strategy for connecting with clients during a pitch?
