Let's Mo! We are getting a fuzzy feeling celebrating #InternationalMensDay today in the office with a coffee morning showing off our Movember charity efforts to raise awareness and funds for men's wellbeing. It was great to chat about how men and their loved ones can be more aware of potential health issues that often get overlooked, including #MentalHealth, and prostate and testicular cancer, and how we can support the men we care about to lead healthier, longer lives. We have established a #Movember team this year and all monies raised will be matched by #ScottCawley. As the theme for 2024 International Men’s Day is Positive Male Role Models, we've also posted up a few of our personal heroes on our #TeamScottCawley ‘Inspiring Men Wall’ (to match our lovely Women's Day wall from back in March). #Blindboy Boatclub has pride of place alongside the various statesmen, film and sportstars, as we love how the former Rubberbandit has been raising awareness of Irish nature and biodiversity as well as mental health and neurodiversity on his thought-provoking podcast series. A shout out to all our male colleagues, family and friends. G'wan the lads! #MensHealth #Ecology #Teamwork #Charity #MentalHealthAwareness #CancerSupports #LetsMo! Find out more on the issues to be aware of this Movember and how to participate (still time to grow a mo?! It is Movember time!!!! Olivier Bourdeau, CPA Jonathan Harvey, CPA As we step into November, it's time to raise awareness for men's health issues through the Movember movement. This initiative focuses on critical areas such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. I’m excited to share that I’m participating in Movember this year by growing a mustache and raising funds to support this important cause. Every dollar counts, and your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of men facing these challenges. 💙 Why Movember? • Prostate cancer is the most common for men over 45. • Globally, we lose one man to suicide every minute of every hour of every day. • Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men aged 15 – 34. • On average, men are dying 4.5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. I invite you to join me in this fight. Please consider donating to my Movember campaign. This November, I'm proud to support Movember—a cause dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. Movember tackles some of the biggest health issues men face, like mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. 👨🦱 Why It Matters: Men face unique health challenges that often go unspoken, with many affected by mental health struggles and physical health issues. By coming together, we can drive awareness and fund impactful research and support systems. 💸 How You Can Help: I'm raising funds to contribute to Movember’s programs, which provide life-saving resources and support. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Whether it's the price of a coffee or a night out, your support can help create a world where men can live happier, healthier, and longer lives. 📢 Spread the Word: If you can't donate, sharing this post with your network would mean the world to me. It's Movember — Time to Raise Awareness for Men's Health November is here, and it's time to embrace the power of the mustache for a cause that impacts millions of men worldwide. Movember isn't just about growing a beard (though that's fun too) — it's about raising awareness and funds for men's health issues, particularly mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. In the workplace, we often focus on professional growth and achievements, but it’s just as important to support our colleagues' health and well-being. Movember reminds us that men’s health deserves the same level of attention and care that we give to our careers. Here’s how you can get involved: Grow a Mo: Whether it’s a full mustache or a simple stubble, raise awareness by sporting a Mo this month. Donate: Even if you can’t grow a mustache, you can still support the cause by donating to Movember and other men’s health initiatives. Start a Conversation: Men’s health issues can often be overlooked or brushed aside. Use Movember as an opportunity to talk openly about mental health, the importance of regular check-ups, and supporting one another. Join a Team: Get your colleagues, friends, or network involved in fundraising and spreading awareness. Why it matters: 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Men are 3 times more likely to die by suicide than women. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men (aged 15-35). Let’s support men’s health this Movember and continue the conversation year-round. 💪 https://lnkd.in/eAAnrkpZ KPMG in the Crown Dependencies #Movember #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #ProstateCancer #TesticularCancer #Movember2024 #HealthMatters #EndTheStigma #GrowAMo #SupportMensHealth #WellbeingAtWork
