✅ Skills gap and gender gap are interconnected! The energy transition needs to be just and fair, ensuring that no one is left behind. I recently participated in a panel discussion at #COP29 on green skills, green jobs, women and social dialog. Together with great panelists like Dr. Pilvi Torsti from the European Training Foundation, Camilla Roman from ILO Geneva, Barbara Kauffmann from the European Commission, and Muskan Lodhi from the Building National Youth Climate Consortium India, we share views on how to ensure a just and inclusive energy transition. ➡️ Bridging the skills gap: highlighting the urgent need to equip the workforce with the skills required for a green economy. Schneider Electric Youth Impact Through Learning has empowered over 760,000 young people in energy management, addressing the 1 in 5 youth who are currently not in education, employment, or training ➡️ Gender equality and empowerment: addressing the underrepresentation of women in the energy sector. Some programs, like the Desfers initiative in the Sahel region, supported by our Foundation, empower women through training, electrification, and entrepreneurship. Thank you so much Romain Boitard for the invitation. Let's carry on the discussion! Gilles Vermot Desroches Patricia Benchenna Diane Le Goff Zanelle Dalglish Marwa Hammad
