Earlier today I joined my fellow #CALA Food Systems leaders, Rachel from #Uganda and Sugra from #Nigeria in a panel discussion during the CALA third Cohort Leadership Forum. We discussed #Agroecology and #EMS in the context of the Community of Practice where Rachel is the CoP Champion and Sugra and myself are Chairperson and Vice respectively. Agroecology is almost gaining panacea status as a tool for achieving integrated mitigation of the multisectoral impacts of Climate change in the quest for global food security. So collectively, we emphasised intensified collaborative efforts, mainstreaming Agroecology in national policies and strategies, information sharing and hybridisation of efforts. #AGRA #CALA #CALAFoodSystemsChampions #FoodSystemsTransformation #Malawi

Businesses across the food, drink and agriculture sector have a crucial role to play in developing and delivering positive, integrated solutions for climate and health. Forum for the Future has created a Climate and Health toolkit that offers practical guidance, resources and case studies for businesses across the food, drink and agriculture sector wanting to take integrated climate and health action. 💥 I really like Section 5 - Visionary Leadership Towards Climate and Health. This tool is for the Executive Teams and Boards, and mid-senior business leaders to expedite their visionary leadership journey to accelerate the integrated transformation of our climate, health and food and agriculture systems. CRITICAL 🙂 Check it out 👇 https://lnkd.in/ewyarhYn #netzerofood #sustainableagriculture #netzerotransition

If it’s within our remit; and we are the boss, it’s our responsibility to shoulder. We can observe here the NSW Minister from Agriculture and Fisheries being questioned about a breed of fish that she decided on banning retrieval of- the Groper fish. A decision that lies squarely within her purview and authority- and that some might argue was a good one. Irrespective, if you are going to strike the gavel, you ought to at least have a rudimentary understanding on the topic. Understandably, you trust that the tacit knowledge drawn upon by subordinate managers serves you well- but that does not excuse one from doing a few minutes of homework on the subject. It’s sucks sometimes, but it’s a leaders responsibility. The Hon. Mark Banasiak MLC Kaine Ogden #lead #leader #leadership #management #manager #innovation

Last month I had the pleasure of participating in a panel discussion on ‘Achieving a nature positive advantage,’ as part of AusIMM's Thought Leadership Series. The recording is now available online if you'd like to catch up. In this session, we explored why fulfilling nature-related commitments goes beyond compliance - it is a strategic imperative. We covered: *The vital role of collaboration and transparent reporting for ensuring accountability. *Insights and lessons learned from other sectors, such as forestry. *The transformative impact of advanced technologies on monitoring nature impacts. *Strategies for effectively supporting operational teams in their nature commitments. *The importance of a proactive approach across the entire value chain, including community and governance levels. Sir, so happy to read this insight about creating unity in purpose stemming from both the 'said and unsaid' motivations of stakeholders. Succinctly said and it brings into focus what and how we do what we do at FreezeLink in harnessing AI, IoT and cold chain to change the story about #foodsecurity in Africa! #freezelink #foodsecurity #coldchain Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA)
With Owusu Akoto at the helm, Ghana-based FreezeLink harnesses cold-change technology and AI to pave the way for a more food-secure world. Proudly part of this year’s Foundry Fellowship, We are honored to publish a more recent blog authored by Owusu, taking us through the way the adaptive leadership framework he has learned as part of the fellowship has helped guide FreezeLink into more proactive dialogues with governments, corporations, and VCs about the way in which it and other organizations can help solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges like food waste and food security. We invite you to read the blog at https://lnkd.in/gpccdSUZ
