Cooking Safety Tips for Busy Parents Hey, busy parents! Juggling meal prep and family life is no small feat, but safety in the kitchen is a must. Here are three essential tips to keep your family and home safe while whipping up dinner: 1. **Clear the Clutter**: Those countertop treasures—mail, kids' art, stray toys—are cute but can be a fire hazard. Keep your cooking area clear so you can focus on your culinary masterpiece (or, you know, whatever you’re trying to salvage from last night). 2. **Set a Timer**: It’s easy to get distracted by the latest family drama or your phone notifications. Use a timer to pull your attention back to the stove. Trust me, your spaghetti will thank you (and so will your smoke detector). 3. **Check Smoke Detectors**: Make sure your smoke detectors are functional. A quick monthly test could save you from a fiery dinner disaster. Plus, you’ll impress the kids with your proactive parenting skills! Stay safe, keep cooking, and remember: the only smoke in your kitchen should come from the food, not the fire! #FireSafety #SmokeDamageCleanup #KitchenSafety #BusyParentsCooking Alejandro Restrepo Jennifer Restrepo Draško Šamara Stamford Business Network + PuroClean PuroClean of Greenwich | Stamford

Are double yolks lucky? If they are, I was very lucky when I was making omelettes the other day. Not pictured but I broke 6 eggs and FOUR were double yolks! What are the chances? Eggs are the best thing to start cooking with with your children. They are so versatile. From cracking to mixing, from omelette to scrambled egg to French toast. Having children be involved in cooking gives them skills they can take through adult hood. I always give them one cup to put the egg into and one to put the shell in, do it near the sink and actively clean up with them. And if shell gets in the cup? Dont worry, use the other piece of the shell as it cuts through the albumen and you can retrieve it. Pour it into a bowl to give children more access/vosibility. Then once they have cracked those simple dishes (see what I did there) you can start adding other ingredients and make other recipes with egg! For more ideas on bringing learning to life in the kitchen, my award-winning book ‘More to Mealtimes- how to learn almost anything in the kitchen and make mealtimes easier’ is available on Amazon or message me for a signed copy for just £10! #eggs #childdevelopment #nanny #learning #cookingwithchildren #doubleyolk
