swissuniversities, together with other stakeholders in the FRI sector, calls for long-term, forward-thinking investment in innovation in Switzerland, rather than an exclusive focus on short-term spending cuts. If Switzerland loses its leading position in education, research, and innovation, it risks long-term structural disadvantages and economic losses that may be difficult, if not impossible, to recover. Research, Education, and Innovation is Switzerland's sustainable ticket to the Future. Where do we want to go? Do we want Switzerland to travel the next 20 years at high-speed with a first-class ticket, or do we think it's ok to see where the "economy" wagon will lead us? #weareswissuniversities

Why should the Swiss government not reduce its contributions to swissuniversities - Short, informative, to-the-point arguments here: In German: https://lnkd.in/eSVXSrk7 In French: https://lnkd.in/eVgSFQqU By the way: "The number of high school graduates who have access to university is increasing. For 2025-2028, an average annual growth in student numbers of 1.3% is expected for universities and 1.4% for universities of applied sciences; if the basic contributions are not adjusted, the number of students per professorship will increase, which will inevitably lead to a deterioration in the student-teacher ratio."
