🔋⚡ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗘𝗗 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲? ⚡🔋 An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable device that can restart a heart during a cardiac arrest. It's easy to use with clear, step-by-step instructions: ➡️ Turn on the AED and follow the voice prompts. ➡️ Attach the pads to the patient's bare chest as shown in the diagrams. ➡️ Stand clear and let the AED analyze the heart rhythm. ➡️ If a shock is advised, ensure no one is touching the patient and press the shock button. Knowing where AEDs are located in your community can make all the difference in an emergency. Be prepared to act and save a life! ❤️ #AEDAwareness #SaveALife

Did you know that a simple skill could transform you into someone's hero? 🌟 Defibrillation, using an AED, is a critical life-saving action during sudden cardiac arrest, and it’s something ANYONE can learn! With each passing minute in an SCA emergency, the chance of survival drops by about 10%. But, survival rates can more than double if defibrillation happens quickly 🙌 Make today the day you brush up on your defibrillation knowledge! https://hubs.la/Q02FVZCk0 #Defibrillation #CardiacArrest #SaveALife

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are portable, life-saving devices designed to be used in an emergency situation. They analyze heart rhythm and can deliver an electric shock (defibrillation) if necessary, potentially restarting a person's heart during cardiac arrest. Functionality: -Analyses heart rhythm: The AED uses electrodes placed on the chest to analyze the electrical activity of the heart. -Delivers electric shock: If the AED detects a specific abnormal heart rhythm (ventricular fibrillation or pulseless ventricular tachycardia), it will deliver an electric shock (defibrillation) to try to restore a normal heart rhythm.

What happens when we use an AED? When we use an AED electrode pads placed directly on the patient’s skin, it delivers an electrical ‘shock’ to the heart. Unlike manual defibrillators (the ones we commonly see on film and TV, where a medical professional sets the voltage and duration in line with the abnormality in heart rhythm), AEDs automatically diagnose the heart rhythm via technology within the electrodes and administer the appropriate voltage. AEDs deliver instructions to the person using them at all times, so no training, experience or special skill is required. For this reason, AEDs are most commonly used for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.
