Shopify Plus Merchants - Action Needed for Checkout Process ▶ Shopify’s upcoming shift to Checkout Extensibility means changes are coming to your checkout process - especially if you have any customizations. The initial upgrade deadline of August 13th has passed so if you haven’t taken action you may experience: - No support for updating any “checkout.liquid” customizations on the info, shipping, & payment pages - No ability to deactivate payment gateways or switch providers - No accurate risk assessment and fraud indicators - Delayed payments from Shopify The next critical deadline is January 6, 2025. On THAT date, Shopify starts automatically updating some of the pages in your checkout process. ❌ You don’t want THAT. ❌ Why? You risk losing any customizations you have in place. For example: - Page layout customizations - Analytics tracking scripts - Any complex feature using custom coding Don’t let that happen. Ensure your custom checkout features remain intact and keep your store secure and future-proof. For more info, swipe through the carousel for key details and steps to stay ahead, then read more on the Shopify site: https://lnkd.in/efuq8Xih If you need help, please reach out and we’re happy to take a look and do a quick assessment of how this upgrade will affect your store. https://lnkd.in/ggpJcydC #Shopify #ecommerce #CheckoutExtensibility #DigitalTransformation

🔑 Passwordless accounts throughout e-commerce, it’s happening... How does this work? I’ve written extensively about why I think Shopify is making the big move towards “owning” the customer account structure and as a result can rollout passwordless logins for all stores. The Customer Account API for headless stores (in dev preview now) is a step in that direction. Customers would be able to shop all Shopify stores without logging in, and thus handle all their orders, returns, subscriptions… in one and the same account UI. A possibility is: People can login with their email address → Shopify adds a passkey on top of this login layer → you are de facto logged in if you go from one Shopify store to the next → you don’t have to go to your inbox to login as all stores actually use the same underlying infrastructure and way of working. 3 big benefits for merchants: • A better UX • No password/account shenanigans • A more direct relation with clients, less friction For customers it would also be easier not having to think about logins all the time before buying something. However this might not be as straightforward as I put it here. People might have a hard time understanding how come they “have an account or are logged in”. But, the example of ShopPay is a similar case that seems to work really well. What do you think, will this become a thing? #commerce #shopify #account #login

I’ve never been this scared to post something. 😳 In the middle of this year, Shopify forced a checkout update... Effectively making it impossible to run A/B tests in the checkout. I spoke to several other agencies and, eventually, to the Shopify team themselves. They simply didn’t seem to care about this and downplayed the importance of testing and data-driven workflows. In meetings, they claimed, "Checkout 2.0 is better," but when asked for supporting data, they provided none. After running more than 2,500 A/B tests (several hundred in the checkout), I know how crucial it is to have the ability to test and optimize the checkout experience on your own terms. I can confidently say that what Shopify did is not making commerce better for everyone—it’s making the checkout experience worse for everyone. Without data or the ability to test for yourself, you risk building poor experiences and earning less revenue. This problem has been known to Shopify for months, yet it continues to be buried. (Just take a look at the questions in the Shopify forums about this issue.) They are deliberately ignoring it. If you’re charging Shopify Plus clients up to $10K/month, this needs to be fixed. Every other major eCommerce platform provider—Adobe, Salesforce, Shopware—allows testing. We work with almost all of them. My goal with this post is to start a discussion and, hopefully, find someone who has a fix for this issue. We’ve tried everything. Shopify, please make 2025 the year merchants can finally test in their checkout again. ----- P.S. Shopify, please don’t sue me—this is just honest feedback and not slander in any way.

$1B in GMV Protected: Here's What We Learned 👇 This morning, we passed a major milestone. Corso just hit $1B in protected order value for Shopify merchants. (And we're adding $5M+ to that number. Every. Single. Day.) But here's the thing: it's not about the number. It's about what it means for our brands. We've learned a lot over the past 3 years working closely with our customers: -Revenue generation matters. A lot. We help merchants keep 86%+ of protection fees. That covers lost, stolen, and damaged order issues that are incredibly costly for brands. Oh, and label costs on returns too. -WISMO tickets related to shipping issues suck. So we handle them. Our Corso Concierge team manages requests with a 97% CSAT score and we decrease CX tickets by 40%+. (Yep, that's third-party verified.) -Brands hate SaaS fees. We offer the most feature-rich returns platform on Shopify and it's free to the brand. Yes, you read that right. We also won't charge you $50 a month to integrate with Gorgias 🙃 -Warranty Management for Shopify brands has been a pain for years. Corso has the solution. We help brands ditch Google Sheets, TypeForm, and other duct-taped processes for a streamlined + integrated approach that delights customers (and your CX team). -Sustainability isn't optional. Corso was the first to not only provide a world-class CX experience but also make it sustainable. We've offset the carbon on every order. -Integrations are table stakes. We've deeply integrated with the most important parts of a brand's stack: Recharge, Rebuy Engine, Gorgias, Malomo, Klaviyo and that list continues to grow every day. This $1B milestone? It's not just a number. It's proof that merchants trust us with their post-purchase experience. And trust me, we don't take that lightly. If you haven't seen how Corso can help your brand profitably streamline your post-purchase, send me a DM and I'll show you. #Ecommerce #ShopifyPlus #PostPurchase #CustomerExperience

Interesting direction from Shopify. What's everyone think of this? I personally think it's a good change because its been confusing to constantly explain to merchants that Shopify Plus runs on the same infrastructure as the "normal" Shopify and is identical in how it runs except for additional features. https://lnkd.in/gM-QMNUH #Shopify #shopifyplus #ecommerce #ecommercewebdevelopment
