Asking any BlueBeam experts on here? Is it possible to extract the CAD vector data from a PDF or if possible to import the linework from a CAD file to overlay directly on the PDF file? It can be done easily in TBC but I need to move the linework into bluebeam Thanks in advance

I was asked the other day how to bring file based geodata, e.g. a Shapefiles, into Model Coordination on the ACC. Here is what I proposed: 🍉 Connect GIS Data to your Civil Model via FDO. 🍓 Use Dynamo for C3D to 1) lift the GIS-data in the 3RD dimension 2) Create 3D solids and fuel the Property Sets with the GIS values. 2) Use Dynamo for C3D to colorize the solids by their Property Set values. 🥝 Save the Model to the ACC (via Desktop Connector) & Coordinate! Clash detection isn’t just about finding problems; it’s about stopping them before they start. Here’s a tip that’s made all the difference for me: Run clash detection directly within your modeling software (like Revit) and include devices from other disciplines within your team. Often, devices are positioned based on symbols in different discipline drawings, leading to overlaps when models are merged. I’ve found it incredibly effective to do a pre-check before sharing on the portal. For instance, we often ran into issues with EWIS and camera devices being positioned too closely. Roof deflection 👷 A quick gauge of structural integrity of a roof is to check the deflection - how much it has dropped from the installed level. This is applicable to pitched and flat roofs. For pitched roofs movement of the trusses below causes the exterior surface to drop. Causes include rotten or broken timber. On flat roofs movement is caused by changes to the substructure decking and compaction of insulation underneath. Aerial imaging photogrammetry can be used on larger roofs to create a 3D model of the surface of a roof. Software tools can then be used to measure the deflection below the installation plane. Further assessment can then be actioned such as internal inspection or core samples. Would you find roof deflection measurement a useful survey metric? I’m not sure which direction to go with this service. We have done some work in the past using photogrametry to create 3D models. At the time our feedback was it wasn’t useful. We have learned clients want the three w’s when it comes to defects - 1. What needs fixed, 2. Where it is, 3. What it will cost to repair or replace.
