Here’s how we advise our clients to keep their marketing machine running while they take some time off for the Christmas break: 1. Review Your Marketing Strategy: Rather than waiting until January, take this opportunity to finalise your strategy for the new year. Whether building it from scratch or refining what you already have, getting your plan in place now will keep the momentum going through the holiday season. 2. Manage Social Media: Either arrange for someone to check in on your accounts or set up automated responses. Schedule posts in advance to keep brand stay visible and your audience engaged, even while you’re enjoying your break. 3. Automate Client Communication: Set up automated emails or chatbots to handle client enquiries during your time away. Remember, opportunities don’t always wait! Automated responses keep clients informed, reassures them you’ll be back, and keeps them engaged without requiring your attention.

“Guys, I’m eating junk and watching rubbish. You better come out and stop me!” Sound familiar? That’s basically how most marketing strategies look in January. Random campaigns, lazy ideas, and a lot of hoping the audience won’t notice. Spoiler alert: they do. But let’s get real - Kevin McCallister didn’t survive Home Alone by luck. He had a plan, and it was genius (and hilarious). What’s the 2024 version of Kevin's booby traps for marketers? → Know your target. Just like Harry and Marv, your competitors will walk right into your traps if you’re strategic. → Use the tools at your disposal. Kevin had paint cans and Christmas ornaments—we have automation, email warm-up tools, and data-driven insights. Slight upgrade. → Be bold and creative. A simple plan executed well is always better than a complicated one you never follow through on. Let’s stop being the clueless Wet Bandits of marketing and start being more like Kevin: prepared, resourceful, and just a little ruthless (in a good way). So, what’s your “Kevin moment” for 2025? Let’s hear it! 🎄

OK, so no one asked. But as we head into 2025, my top tip is: ‘Do less - but do it better!’ After countless Power Hours with founders and business leaders this year, one thing is clear: there’s still a relentless pressure to do it all. • Posting everywhere, just to stay visible. • Planning to last year’s budget, rather than thinking strategically about what you really need. • Chasing short-term wins on digital channels, while the big picture (and longer-term equity) gathers dust. Good marketing isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what works - and doing it well. That means: • Taking time to review and refine, not just ‘doing for the sake of doing’. • Knowing where to focus your energy for maximum impact, today and tomorrow. So for 2025, let’s stop the scattergun approach. Fewer tactics. Sharper focus. Better results. ******** A fresh pair of eyes can help. I’m now taking bookings for January / February, with space for: 🔋Power Hours, for when you need a fresh perspective, sense-check, or some quick, actionable advice. 🩺 Marketing MOT, for when you need to understand what's working and where new opportunities may lie. 🔍 Data Dive, for when you need to get under the skin of an issue or audience, but aren't sure where to look or what your data is telling you. DM to arrange a no-obligation chat about your marketing needs for next year.

Keeping this in mind, a feature such as Google's “Extended Hours” stands out, providing businesses the opportunity to advertise additional availability. This can be a game-changer in attracting customers who are searching for services outside usual business hours. Integrating such nuanced capabilities into marketing strategies can significantly impact a local business's ability to draw in more foot traffic, significantly increasing the chances of conversions and repeat purchases. Building out our marketing system during COVID was stressful. Our team was losing confidence because no matter how hard we tried, the results didn’t improve. So, we had a big meeting and reassessed what was going wrong. 1. The marketing efforts were scattered and uncoordinated. 2. We were focusing too much on products and services. 3. We lost sight of the customer journey. And that's when I had my 'Aha!' moment. We needed to focus more on emotional engagement rather than just transactions. Because people don't buy products or services; they buy transformations. And so we got really specific with our marketing. 1. Mapped out each customer interaction. --> We focused on targeted marketing tactics that moved the needle. 2. We stopped spreading our efforts thin --> We focused on the projects and services that were most profitable. 3. We tapped into the brain's emotional process. --> We began to bridge the gap between our client's current state end desires By concentrating on fewer, more effective strategies,, our efforts finally felt aligned, and our teams were re-energized.
