It’s easy to lose yourself in the climate policy space, forgetting the traction points where policy meets people’s lives. Though it remains true that the biggest impact we can have is to vote, and even better to engage with the people we elect, it’s important to practice what we preach on a personal level. That’s why I enjoyed this article so much! It advises something I’ve pointed out many times over the years: heat costs a lot of energy! It then points out non-obvious places in your own home where heat may be going when it doesn’t need to. The climate advocate who practices in their own home what they preach in the halls of power is going to be the most effective, because soup-to-nuts, they are consistent.
