The first day of the Global Women in Leadership Summit, organized by EVG Events Group, was filled with inspiring talks. It was a pleasure to meet many successful women and hear their experiences and insights. My favorite talk was about building your board of allies, finding people who elevate you and support your growth, presented by Lidia Timkovskaya (She/Her). Another key takeaway was Heena Jethwa's emphasis on the importance of finding your personal purpose and its alignment with organizational purpose in leadership. Lastly, as Maria Elena Alvarez Camps wisely said, "You don’t have to be perfect; you only have to be great with the resources you’ve been given at any given time." looking forward for the second day! #WomenInLeadership #EmpowerWomen #PersonalGrowth #Leadership

So many deadly speakers at the First Nations Women in Leadership Summit here in Meanjin. Almost every speaker referenced all the different women who paved the way for them to step into leadership roles - we're in this together. I think my favourite advice from Prof Marcia Langton was simple: "leadership is simply being yourself - making decisions that are good for others - and doing the best that you can." If all leaders followed those simple rules I think we'd see more authenticity, transparency, powerful vulnerability, and true, deep listening.
