Addiction is a topic that far too often remains unspoken, but it impacts so many lives, families, and communities. The truth is, addiction can happen to anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. It doesn’t define someone’s worth—it’s a challenge that requires understanding, compassion, and resources to overcome. We need more resources, more compassion, and more understanding to help people get clean and get back on track in life. My dear friend Madeleine Mottel is raising awareness and funds through the Shatterproof Walk to End Addiction Stigma, in memory of her sister, Brianna, who tragically lost her battle with addiction almost 4 years ago. Maddy’s strength and drive truly inspires me and I look forward to walking with her on October 26th. By supporting Shatterproof, we can help create real change—breaking the stigma, providing better access to life-saving treatments, and shining a light on hope and recovery. Let’s make a generational impact. If you’re able, please consider donating to support this important cause. Every bit helps. 💙 Link to Donate: https://lnkd.in/eevZ7R7G #EndAddictionStigma #Shatterproof #AddictionAwareness #SupportRecovery

Alcohol abuse has far-reaching effects that extend beyond the individual struggling with addiction. Families and friends often bear the brunt of emotional, psychological, and financial burdens. Relationships can become strained due to the addict’s unpredictable behaviour, leading to trust issues and communication breakdowns. Children, in particular, may suffer from neglect or emotional trauma, affecting their development and well-being. Additionally, friends and family members might experience stress, anxiety, and depression as they navigate the complexities of supporting their loved one while managing their own lives. If you have a loved one, family member or friend who’s addicted to alcohol and you are impacted by their issues, you can find help and support with Adfam👇 💻 https://lnkd.in/emEHMVWj #YMCA #YMCATogether #NorthWestCharity #Charity #AlcoholChangeUK #AlcoholAwarenessWeek #RiseAndRaise #AlcoholAwareness

In July we would like to highlight a cause that is dear to our hearts here at LPA Counseling. StRides Against Suicide and Overdose, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential mental health and substance abuse care to individuals in Northwest Indiana who are underinsured, uninsured, or unable to afford therapy. Mission: At StRides Against Suicide and Overdose, they believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health and substance abuse support, regardless of their financial situation. The main goal is to bridge the gap in care and ensure that no one is left without the help they need. What they Do: Provide Access: Offer free or low-cost therapy services to those who cannot afford traditional mental health and substance abuse care. Raise Awareness: Host a StRides against suicide and overdose bike ride and 5k. Fundraisers. Why It Matters: Mental Health for All: Many individuals in our community struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues but cannot access the care they need due to financial barriers. https://lnkd.in/gXdGQMhy

In a world full of noise, there was Jake – a symphony of kindness, intelligence, and love. He found joy in snow-kissed mountains, tranquil fishing trips, the adrenaline of fast cars, and the warmth of friendship. His spirit, though no longer bound to this earth, continues to drive us towards a greater purpose. Through Jake Driven to Give FDN Corp., we strive to be a beacon of hope in the darkness of addiction. Hand in hand with the DEA, we reach out to communities with supplies like Narcan, offering a lifeline to those in the grip of substances. Our vision stretches further, aiming to provide the drug Suboxone to aid in detoxification and liberation from the chains of addiction. Our foundation stands apart, not for accolades, but for our ceaseless dedication. We are not bound by time, available 24/7 to listen, support, and guide. Every call answered, every life touched, brings us closer to our singular goal: to save lives, to spare families the anguish we know all too well. We invite you to stand with us, to join this crusade of compassion. Your donations, your shares, your voices – they are the chorus that magnifies our impact. Together, let us rewrite the narrative of addiction, replacing despair with hope, and sorrow with healing. Let Jake's legacy shine as a beacon of light in the lives we touch. #JakeDrivenToGiveFDN #SavingLives #AddictionAwareness #HopeInAction #

Making Waves of Change: A Journey of Triumph, and Togetherness.💜 Today marks a personal milestone and a collective call to action. Six years ago, I embarked on a journey towards sobriety, a path that has led me not only to reclaim my life but to discover a profound purpose within it. Today, as I celebrate my 6th sober birthday, I am also diving into a 24-hour charity swim to raise awareness and funds for Foyle Women's Aid, an organisation dedicated to supporting women and girls affected by Domestic Violence. This dual celebration is deeply symbolic of the intertwined challenges and triumphs in my own life. Like too many others, I found myself ensnared in the vicious cycle of domestic abuse, using alcohol as a coping mechanism to navigate the pain and trauma that such violence leaves in its wake. My journey to sobriety was not just about overcoming addiction, it was about breaking free from the shackles of an abusive past and reclaiming my dignity, strength, and hope. Today, as I swim each lap, I am reminded of the resilience of the human spirit and the power of community. This event is more than a fundraiser; it’s a testament to the fact that there is life beyond domestic violence, alcohol addiction and trauma. It is a message of hope to those still caught in the storm, a reminder that they are not alone and that with support, courage, and determination, a brighter future is possible. To everyone who has supported me on this journey, thankyou. Your belief, encouragement, and solidarity have been a lighthouse in the darkest of times. And to those who are still fighting their battles, know this: there is hope, there is help, and there is a life filled with possibilities beyond pain. Let’s make waves of change together. By supporting Foyle Women’s Aid and similar organisations, by talking openly about domestic wand addiction, and by standing together in solidarity, we can turn the tide for those in need. Together, we are unstoppable. #domesticviolenceawareness #TogetherWeCan #HEALINGTOGETHER #sobriety

The Push-Up Challenge 2024 - has landed. In all seriousness, I want to take a moment to acknowledge some of the challenges we face in the design and marketing industry. Many of us have experienced moments of doubt and struggle. I’ve personally been told by people I looked up to that I would never 'make it' as a designer. I’ve battled with imposter syndrome and dealt with those who see design as a low-skill job, treating me accordingly. It’s never been all sunshine and roses. So, to anyone at their desk, grinding away – let’s take a break together. Gather your friends and colleagues, get down for some push-ups, and let’s have a chat about our experiences. It’s a great way to support a good cause, and also to support each other. Join me, and let’s make a positive impact, both physically and mentally!
Join us as we gear up for our fourth year participating in The Push-Up Challenge! With plenty to PUSH for, the Four Stripes team is committed to #pushforbetter this June by completing 3,249 push-ups, representing the number of Australians lost to suicide in 2022. Together, let's shine a spotlight on mental health, raise awareness, and support those in need. If you would like to donate to our team to keep us pushin' through, you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/dzk3SrWY We appreciate your support and thank you 👏 💪
