Are values enough to guide your team? Organizations talk about values, but how do you ensure they translate into action? Many people confuse working agreements with company values. While values provide a type of compass, working agreements are specific, actionable commitments that teams make to each other. They are co-created contracts that outline how a team will work together. Working Agreements address specific behaviors, communication styles, and decision-making processes. Values often lack the specificity and accountability of working agreements. Why does clearing up this misconception matter? Because the benefits of intentional working agreements are undeniable: 1️⃣ Enhanced Team Cohesion 2️⃣ Improved Communication 3️⃣ Boosted Productivity 4️⃣ Strengthened Culture When you understand the difference between values and working agreements, you can empower your team to work more effectively and achieve greater results.

Let's talk about team effectiveness. Team effectiveness is rooted in having self-driven, well-organized employees who can work independently toward shared objectives. Leaders should move away from micromanagement and focus on empowering their teams through clear direction and autonomy. Transparent communication, active collaboration, and regular feedback help foster a more energized and motivated team. This approach not only boosts productivity but also strengthens ownership and responsibility, driving better outcomes in today’s dynamic work environment. Do you agree with this perspective?

Is your team dysfunctional? You might notice that team members seem unhappy, meetings are quiet except for some sarcastic comments, and instead of giving direct feedback, people talk about each other behind their backs. Plans don't get followed, everyone blames others and the management, and no one wants to take responsibility. Sound familiar? It's important to recognize that this kind of team behavior isn't normal. Patrick Lencioni's book, "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team," is a fantastic guide on how to turn your team into a high-performing group and make your workplace healthy and supportive.

Attempting to control employees' every move is one of the fastest ways to destroy productivity and loyalty. Do any of the following sound familiar to you? ➡️ Are your employees often waiting on your approval of their work? ➡️Are you the one who does most the talking in your team meetings? ➡️Do you find it difficult to unplug after hours and on holidays? ➡️Do you often provide substantive track changes or suggestions on the work of others? ➡️Do you have trouble delegating tasks, and often end up doing the work yourself? ➡️Do you often tell others what you think, rather than asking them what they think? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should try to let go and trust your team more. Gradually give your employees more responsibility and control in their tasks. Try to spend more time talking about the end goal, rather than all of the individual steps people should take to get there.
