New traffic data collected by Cycling Scotland shows that the expanding network of cycle routes in Edinburgh is encouraging a record number of people to travel by bike. To have safe and increasing levels of active travel in the region, it is crucial to provide integrated, high-quality routes for walking, wheeling, and cycling that connect destinations. These routes support healthy living choices and contribute to creating happier, more inclusive, and prosperous communities. SEStran is dedicated to collaborating with partners across the region to develop these high-quality routes. The SEStran Strategic Network outlines a framework for the coordinated development of cross-boundary active travel routes, linking cities, towns, neighborhoods, settlements, and public transport hubs within the SEStran region.
