It was great to sit down with Jay Williams to discuss the interplay between business, sport, and leadership at the Wealth Management EDGE conference sponsored by #InvescoQQQ. One big discussion point? What it takes to evolve quickly in complex environments. As a former student-athlete, I've learned that hard work and perseverance can help you better adapt to ever-changing environments. By always rethinking what's possible, I discovered the power of resilience, adaptability, and teamwork. Whether injuries or losing streaks in sports or challenging markets and new products & competitors, the mindset instilled in me from athletics has been one of the key variables between success and failure in my career. When I joined Invesco in 2019, the investing landscape, my team, and my role and responsibilities looked different than they do today. Over the past five years, we’ve seen multiple market cycles and changing market dynamics. By embracing that change and focusing our work towards our long-term goals, we have been able to grow our team, AUM in our ETF lineup, and launch unique new products. A special thank you to Jay for taking the time talk openly about his own leadership experiences and lessons learned throughout his career. #WMEDGE Before investing carefully read and consider fund investment objectives, risks, charges, expenses and more in prospectus at invesco.com.

Mark Neely, our Director of Alternatives and Senior Client Advisor, joined The NYPEN Real Estate and Juniper Square panel which discussed The Rise of Private Wealth and Impact on Investment Managers. This event brought together a wide range of investment professionals, including some General Partners in the commercial real estate space. Mark spoke to the rapidly changing private wealth ecosystem, which has evolved significantly over the past few years. Mark’s input on ways to access the private wealth space for alternative managers and the increasing demand for alternative investments in the private wealth space was informative and reflective of how we view alternative investments as a part of client portfolios here at GenTrust. Mark discussed platforms, internal private markets experts, and commingled feeder funds as ways investment advisory firms access private markets. He also mentioned the core principles GenTrust uses when selecting private investments – differentiated exposure, importance of manager selection, and a focus on efficient after-tax returns.
Last night, NYPEN Real Estate and Juniper Square hosted a highly informative panel discussion on The Rise of Private Wealth and the Impact on Investment Managers. Many thanks to moderator Brandon Sedloff and panelists Mark Neely, Craig Hine and Hugh Macdonnell for their contributions to the thought-provoking conversation!
