My college classmate, Arline Geronimus, created the term “weathering” in 1992 to describe (to paraphrase) the devastating physical effects of racism over time, resulting in poorer health outcomes. Her book, Weathering: The Extraordinary Stress of Ordinary Life in an Unjust Society, is a must read for all in healthcare. This is a profile of her and her beliefs: https://lnkd.in/e5GZSNMe
