"I need a CTO to build my govtech startup!" -False There is a lot of advice out there for founders, but often times they apply the wrong advice to the wrong situation. For example, not every company needs a "CTO" to get off the ground. Ansley Fender was so kind to share some of the misconceptions she's run across while building her company Grantcycle. If you are even thinking about starting a govtech company, you should be able to take something away from this conversation. Talking to transparent founders like Ansley, gives you a real sense of the journey and hopefully will help you not make the same mistakes we made. Check out the episode below. Also, big thanks to Jean Ross, RN for the introduction!

One of the toughest skills for young entrepreneurs to learn: Ignore shiny objects. 95% of what you consider to be work is irrelevant. The path to success lies in finding the 5% that really move the needle. Understand what levers actually drive revenue & growth, then pull them hard! Enjoyed sharing my perspective on shiny object syndrome, ruthless prioritization, finding product-market fit, and much more on the "Made It' podcast with Connor Tomkies . -- If you found this post helpful: ♻️ Repost to share it with your audience 🔔 Follow me Darrell Lerner for more on entrepreneurship, startups, personal branding, and mindset.

Thanks to Dave McCormack CF.APMP - Hobs Repro for a searching interview in the Bids & Pieces podcast series. Just 5 questions in a 30-minute chat gave me the opportunity to discuss my motivations in selling AM Bid to Bidding Limited and going on to launch Business Sale Basecamp, helping company owners prepare their businesses for sale. #entrepreneurship #ProudToBeAPMP https://lnkd.in/exvv9uv5
