As we wrap up September, it’s hard not to marvel at the sight of lush fields, greenhouses and the rains — one of the blessings that has kept our vegetables and other crops thriving and our hopes high. But while nature has been generous, there’s an underlying reality that we must address: the seasonal nature of food production.
👉 Even with the current harvest, food insecurity remains a pressing issue. For some, these seasons mark abundance; for others, it’s a fleeting moment of availability before the lean periods set in. The cycle continues, year after year.
💡 It’s time we break this cycle. We need innovation, collaboration, and a commitment from every stakeholder — farmers, agripreneurs, policymakers, and all of us in the agricultural value chain — to make food accessible year-round, regardless of the season.
🤝 Let’s continue sharing knowledge, investing in sustainable practices, and supporting each other to build resilient food systems.
💚 To every farmer, agribusiness professional, and stakeholder: thank you for your efforts. But let’s also remember that there’s more to be done. Together, we can transform seasonal abundance into consistent food security for all.

5moTo feed this ever growing population, protein need must be met. Skretting Nigeria is well positioned to meet the protein need by ensuring quality feed is available for both poultry and fish farmers. This is well achievable. Raw materials which are key to feed availability are to be in constant supply. Together, we can make it happen.
