Happy to share the explainer on the role of energy storage I co-authored with Debmalya Sen 🤝 Cost of of lithium-ion batteries dropped by 40% in 2024 and by more than 90% over last decade 😲 And the prices of battery cells are expected to continue this downward trend in the coming years ⚡ According to Robert Piconi, Energy Vault, “With clean energy rapidly gaining momentum, we are seeing heightened demand for energy storage (...). The scale-up of a diverse mix of hardware and software technology solutions will be essential.” The global energy storage market in 2024 is estimated to be around 360 GWh. It primarily includes very matured pumped hydro and compressed air storage 🌊 At the same time, 90% of all new energy storage deployments took place in the form of batteries between 2015 to 2024. This is what drives the growth 🔋 According to BloombergNEF, the global energy storage market is expected to grow six-fold to more than 2 TWh by 2030 📈 At the same time, according to Claudio Spadacini Energy Dome "while lithium-ion batteries and pumped hydro have shaped the past decade, they cannot address the full range of challenges the grid now faces”. This is particularly important for storage requirements that go beyond the current four hour duration 🧐 Some of the most matured technologies include sodium-ion, flow batteries, liquid CO2 storage, a combination of lithium-ion and clean hydrogen and gravity and thermal storage 🔨 Link to the explainer in comments 👇 👇 👇 #cleantech #india #energystorage #energytransition Vijayanand Samudrala Amararaja Batteries Limited Ayush Misra AmpereHour Energy Anjani Sri Mourya Sunkavalli Altmin Gayle Markovitz Anna Tobin Sahil Raina Thapelo Tladi Charles Bourgault Renee Van Heusden Francisco Betti Roberto Bocca World Economic Forum

#ModuleTech #PVKnowledge #SolarEnergy #PVModule #ModuleQuality #QualityInspection #SolarDeveloper "Ribbon Cross Effects" The term "ribbon cross" in the context of solar modules likely refers to the crossover points or connections where the thin ribbons (typically made of copper or another conductive material) that interconnect solar cells on a module meet each other. These connections are crucial for the electrical performance of the solar panel. The impact of ribbon cross in solar modules can be significant because: 1. *Electrical Efficiency*: Ribbon cross points should ideally have low resistance to minimize power losses due to resistive heating and voltage drops. Poorly designed or faulty ribbon crosses can lead to reduced electrical efficiency of the solar module. 2. *Reliability*: The reliability of solar modules depends on the quality of these connections. If the ribbon cross is not well-made or if there are defects (such as cracks or poor soldering), it can lead to potential points of failure over time, affecting the module's longevity and performance. 3. *Manufacturing Quality*: During the manufacturing process, ensuring that the ribbon cross points are properly soldered and mechanically robust is critical. Any defects in this area can lead to manufacturing defects that might not be immediately apparent but could manifest as module failures in the field. 4. *Overall Performance*: The overall performance of a solar module is influenced by the quality of its internal connections, including ribbon crosses. Efficient and reliable connections ensure that the solar cells within the module can function optimally and deliver the expected electrical output. In summary, the impact of ribbon cross in solar modules is primarily related to electrical efficiency, reliability, manufacturing quality, and overall module performance. Ensuring high-quality connections at these points is essential for maximizing the energy output and lifespan of solar photovoltaic modules. Do not wash solar panels? "Series : Watt Happens ................article 3" If you do not inspect the solar modules properly, there is no use of superficial waterwash. unless you understand the geographical effects of local factors, these factors will leave the unrecoverable effects. your system may show great power generation in initial days, but manufacturer's may reject the warranty on many grounds. washing solar panels is the most crucial part of maintenance process. Do it professionally or do not wash solar panels. It is the same thing.
