👀 I see you. You’re juggling client deadlines, wrapping up the year, and still somehow managing to show up for every school assembly, end-of-year concert, and award ceremony (even when they clash with work meetings). You're sneaking in late-night shopping trips, hiding presents in cupboards, and staying up way too late wrapping them while trying to watch Love Actually for the millionth time and lets not even mention Elf on the shelf and the amount of time thats taking each night! You’re planning Christmas lunch, making sure everyone gets their favourite dish, and double-checking that you haven’t forgotten the crackers or the teacher gifts. And let’s not even get started on the mental load—remembering who likes what, making sure everyone feels special, and somehow pulling off the magic that everyone expects this time of year. It’s exhausting. But let me tell you this: you are INCREDIBLE. The fact that you’re still standing, still showing up, and still giving your best to your family and your business is something to be proud of. There are 12 sleeps to go. You’ve got this. Pour yourself a coffee, a tea, or a cheeky wine, and take a moment to breathe. You are doing enough. You are enough. With so much that has happened during this year, it does feel a bit of a relief that Christmas is now almost here. Which for most businesses means a few days off to relax and spend with family and friends. But this year, just like last and every time since we opened our doors, Cygnia will be open during the festive season. LAST WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS 🎈 Are you a postponer or a finisher? It’s the busiest time of the year. Holiday prep, Christmas parties and a gazillion things on the to-do-list. What’s your approach? Trying to finish everything to know that you come back to a clean desk? Or postpone it, perhaps things have solved themselves over the holiday? Personally I do a combination. I try to finish everything that currently have in my head, that needs to be written down. Because I know that I won’t be able to stop myself from thinking on it and sometimes stressing over that I might forget it. As a manager all reviews for my team members is something I want to write down when it’s fresh in mind. I also have a secret trick. On Friday I officially have a day off. The way things are looking right now, I won’t be baking that day…. Instead I will actually finish some of my writings. I will work, from my sofa, with a cup of tea within each. And everyone thinks that I have a day off - so I will most likely be uninterrupted. It’s like my bonus day. My secret weapon to survive the silly season. What’s your tip?
