We've completed our inaugural field trip to the highly prospective Uley North Graphite Project in South Australia. We have identified several walk-up drill targets including an extension to Quantum Graphite’s historic Uley Graphite Mine. An airborne electromagnetic survey to cover select priority target areas is being planned. The field trip provided us with further data and a more comprehensive understanding of the project, underscoring the significant potential for graphite exploration. We will continue due diligence on the graphite mineralisation potential, which includes compiling historical exploration data. Executive Director Lindsay Franker commented: “Westar has commenced a detailed review of existing datasets and is currently undertaking ground truthing to obtain an understanding of the graphite potential of the Uley North Project, strategically located in one of the world’s largest and most prolific coarse graphite provinces in the world. We are planning staged exploration programs including, detailed airborne EM surveys that we expect will unlock the graphite mineralisation potential of the Project. We also note the recent Australian government announcement that they will spend $566 million over next decade, focusing on conducting surveys to identify potential critical minerals deposits. Graphite is listed as a critical mineral for the energy transition in Australia and we are excited to add this mineral to our existing portfolio.” Read the full ASX Announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eguCpcMG #WSR #Westar #graphite #ASX #ASXNews #miningnews

We have bolstered the development prospects of our Cleveland Tin Project, in the mineral rich province of north-west Tasmania after outstanding drill assays from the “Foleys Zone” confirmed large continuous zones of tungsten, co-mineralised with a suite of highly desired critical minerals Managing Director Joe David said the results increase the Cleveland Project’s development prospectivity considerably. “In addition to the previously established 7.5Mt of tin and copper Mineral Resources and the 4.0Mt of tungsten Mineral Resources the project now has an additional suite of Critical and Strategic Minerals to evaluate including molybdenum, fluorite/fluorspar (further assays pending), bismuth and rubidium. These minerals are targeted by the Australian and US Governments (and their allies) due to their contribution to high-tech industries and current reliance on concentrated offshore supply chains,“ Mr David said. “These Foley Zone intersections are potentially game-changing for the project as we continue to build a robust suite of Critical Mineral mineralisation, ahead of developing the technical studies to define the economic case for the company’s planned re-start of the old Cleveland Tin Mine. “The confirmation of just under half-a-kilometre of tungsten, of substantial grade and intensity appear globally significant. This is despite the fact the hole drifted slightly at depth and missed the ultimate porphyry dyke target (historically intersected) leaving potential further upside for the mineralisation, grades and the project.” “Whilst the intersection of minerals other than tungsten was considered prospective, due to several research papers and historic mine records, the thickness of continuity of some of these Critical Mineral intercepts has been a positive surprise. Particularly noteworthy is intersecting over 200m of previously un-identified rubidium mineralisation (>0.1% Rb), a rare and unique mineral which trades around US$1.1 million/tonne,” he said. “Rubidium is indispensable for quantum computing, GPS technology, fibre optics, electronics, pyrotechnics, the medical industry and is also used to make specialty glass.” “We believe on-top of the previously defined Mineral Resources the confirmation of just under 500m of additional Tungsten mineralisation, co-mineralised with these Critical and Strategic Minerals definitely puts the Cleveland Project back-on-the-map.” Read the full ASX Announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gTN4wqhb #Elementos #ELT #TinMining #Tungsten #ClevelandProject #MineralExploration #Drilling #MiningNews #CriticalMinerals #Tasmania #ASX #Tin #Copper

Minnesota's Iron Range has unexpectedly become a focal point for helium production following the accidental discovery of a significant helium deposit near Babbitt in 2011. Pulsar Helium Inc. a Canadian company, plans to launch the state's first commercial helium operation after promising test results revealed a high concentration of 13.8% #helium with minimal #methane contamination, making it twice as potent as some of the best wells in the US. This find has garnered attention due to helium's critical role in medical MRI machines, high-tech welding, fiber optic cables, and semiconductors. Despite the potential, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has limited experience with helium, as the state has never commercially produced gas. A recently passed law places a moratorium on helium extraction until a regulatory and tax framework is established, although it allows for a temporary permit and imposes an 18.75% royalty on sales. The helium project may not generate as many jobs as traditional mining, reflecting the light nature of helium extraction, which contrasts sharply with the labor-intensive iron ore industry. The venture could still position Minnesota as a key player in the helium supply chain, especially given the proximity to major medical and tech sectors. However, efficient resource management and regulatory oversight will be crucial to ensuring the economic benefits of this valuable discovery are realized. https://lnkd.in/gbJYQ3DR
