It’s my favourite time of year! It’s September, which means Halloween and C*******s are just around the corner. These are both two of my favourite holidays! Also, at this time of year, I like to look back on what we’ve achieved this year, and what memories I’ve made. It fills me with so many positive vibes, which is what I thrive off. September is usually when business at Quibble ramps up - it’s a trend we’ve witnessed literally since the business started. So, we’re excited to see what projects people want to start and how we can help them. Plus, we’ve got some exciting projects on ourselves. We’re revamping our website, redecorating the office and we’re exhibiting The Business Show - Where I’ll also be talking. It’s gonna be heavy, but I’m excited to see what the next few months look like. ❓ What do the next few months look like for you? ❓What are you excited about? #September #Summer #Autumn #Planning #Business #Events #Marketing

🎉As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we're taking a delightful dive down memory lane. Here's a glimpse of our team when they were 10 years old (or much younger!). Who would have thought how far we've all come since then!🌟 #Throwback #10YearAnniversary #WebDesign #DigitalAgency #WebDesign

The year of 2024 brought so many fun professional projects, interesting challenges and new opportunities for the Medway Group. None of it would have been possible without the insight, support and ideas from clients, colleagues, mentors and friends. For that, I'm very grateful! Of course, year-end always prompts reflections on lessons learned and the chance to set some 2025 intentions. Sharing a few below (link to full post in comments): 1 – I’m a bigger believer than ever in the importance of honing speaking and writing skills – even when they’re not part of your official job description. This belief led me to carve out a line of training targeted specifically to professionals who don’t necessarily write or do presentations as part of their daily work. More details coming about this in 2025. 2 – While I still abide by my dad’s advice that “you’ve got to plan the work before you can work the plan,” I’ve learned sometimes it’s OK to veer from the plan or even change the plan – as long as it’s done with intention and thought. 3 – Every opportunity that comes to the Medway Group won’t necessarily be a good fit. I’m becoming better at discerning what’s a good fit for our expertise. An old friend told me years ago that his business wasn’t for everyone. I finally understand what he meant. 4 – I’ve long believed that the best storytelling comes from overlaying well-told narratives with accurate and well-researched data. In 2024, I was able to help several organizations move from a “look at me, look at me” approach to media relations or advocacy to a data-driven, story-telling approach that connects people and ideas by communicating an authentic voice through the written and spoken word. 5 – The rapid onslaught of artificial intelligence has reminded me that no one can stop learning. Re-engaging in professional organizations, intentionally networking with colleagues, staying on top of trends and remaining open to changing ways of doing things have kept me learning, growing and asking lots of questions. 6 – The most valuable feedback I’ve gotten from writing and speaker coaching this year has been the positive response to one of the first comments I always make. I start with the disclaimer that “I don’t have all the answers.” Writing and speaking are such subjective topics, and I like to acknowledge that age, gender, education level, geography and culture all impact how we speak and write. I encourage people to challenge what I’m teaching and, in the process, I’ve learned far more than I would have just putting “rules” of speaking or writing out there. Plus, this interaction makes every session far more fun for me and the people I’m working with (see how I broke a grammar rule here and ended a sentence with a preposition 😊). What a year this has been for the Medway Group! So thankful for the commitment of long-time clients along with numerous word-of-mouth referrals that resulted in new clients this year. Excited and ready for what 2025 holds with a freshened-up website coming in January, new partnership announcements and a reorganized, sunny office space that makes me happy!

As Romp n' Roll approaches its 20th anniversary, I’ve been reflecting on our journey and how much having a clear purpose has shaped where we are today. When we first opened our doors, the goal was simple: to create a place where kids could play, learn, and socialize, while giving parents a supportive, welcoming community. That purpose has stayed front and center through all the milestones—whether we were expanding to new locations, fine-tuning our curriculum, or finding new ways to support our franchisees. What I’ve learned over the years is that when you have a clear purpose guiding your decisions, it becomes easier to make choices that align with your mission and values. It's helped us create a consistent experience for families and foster a culture that our team and franchisees can rally around. That alignment is key in building trust, loyalty, and lasting success. As we celebrate two decades of Romp n' Roll, I’m more convinced than ever that purpose is what drives long-term success. It’s what keeps us innovating, adapting, and finding new ways to serve our community. What role has purpose played in your business journey?
