Prioritize transparency in policies on sensitive issues like special needs, gender identity, financial aid, and race. Actions to take: 📌Clearly outline special needs policies on your website and applications. 📌Provide support for families with special needs. 📌Create a policy for transgender children 📌Train your team to handle sensitive topics with care. 📌Offer diverse options for gender, race, and financial info in admissions materials. #IndepdendentSchoolAdmissions #EquityInEducation" See full article here: https://loom.ly/5ac_3LE

How Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence Undermine Children’s Education and Future Opportunities! In many parts of the world, children face not only the challenge of accessing education but also the harsh reality of living in environments plagued by gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence (DV). These traumatic experiences don’t just disrupt their schooling; they cast long shadows over their entire lives, perpetuating cycles of inequality and abuse normalisation. GBV and DV create hostile home environments where children’s sense of safety and stability is shattered. The fear and trauma they endure often manifest as anxiety, depression, and behavioural issues, making it difficult for them to concentrate and learn in school. As a result, their academic performance suffers, and they may eventually drop out altogether, further limiting their future opportunities. Growing up in environments marked by violence increases the likelihood of mental health struggles, substance abuse, and involvement in criminal activities. These factors can hinder their ability to secure employment, maintain healthy relationships, and break free from the cycle of abuse. Will you sign our petition https://lnkd.in/gH72xpBV to mandate the teaching of gender equality in our Australian Curriculum to help eradicate this epidemic? Let’s stand together to protect our children, nurture their potential, and build a world where every child can thrive. #educaciondiversa #educateforequality #BreakTheCycle #EndGBV #EducationForAll

“The Samagra Shiksha scheme is an integrated scheme for school education covering the entire gamut from pre-school to class XII. The scheme was upgraded on August 04, 2021, to align it with the Sustainable Development Goal for Education and the new National Education Policy launched in 2020. Among many other major objectives of the redesigned scheme, it effectively works towards bridging social and gender gaps in school education along with ensuring equity and inclusion at all levels of school education.” To read the complete opinion about the transgender education follow the link https://lnkd.in/d_Jyk3SK Views By- Shatakshi Ganguly

Well done
Proud 🌾 Albertan & 🍁 Canadian. Wife. Dog Lover 🐶 Honoured to be the MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat, Alberta's 19th Premier and Leader of the UCP.
In less than a month, our UCP government will introduce critical legislation to ensure that children wait until adulthood before making decisions to physically alter their bodies for gender transition. We will also strengthen parental rights within our education system regarding this issue and ensure that women and girls can compete in female-only sports divisions. While these are sensitive topics, our government believes these measures are in the best interests of children, and we will proceed with these changes without delay. As this legislation is debated, we invite all Albertans to join the conversation. Regardless of differing opinions, we must ensure that all children identifying as transgender know they are cared for and supported.

⚠ 1 DAY LEFT ⚠ There is one day left to respond to the consultation on the Government's draft guidance for schools on gender questioning students. Schools need practical guidance about supporting trans and gender questioning pupils to ensure they are able to support all students to thrive. The draft guidance does not do that. There is no evidence that TGQ children present a risk to other children; that most children feel threatened by or concerned about their peers who are TGQ; or that the presence of a child who is TGQ impacts those around them. Brook wants to see all young people being recognised, celebrated and supported. For this to be a reality, schools need guidance that is young person-centred, evidence-based and draws on the expertise of teachers who are already successfully supporting and safeguarding trans students. RSHE can play an important role in normalising this diversity and ensuring that no pupil feels pressured into an identity, gender expression or sexuality that is not authentic for them. We urge as many people as possible to respond to the consultation before 11.59pm on 12 March to help shape a resource for schools that is both practical and respectful. We recommend looking at the guidance from Stonewall and Allsorts Youth Project for more detailed information on how to respond. https://lnkd.in/eTtfwqds
