while gender studies and feminism share common goals of promoting equality and challenging discrimination, they differ in scope and methodology. Both fields relate closely to modernist and postmodernist thought while evolving alongside the waves of feminism. Structural functionalism provides a framework for analyzing societal roles but is critiqued by both gender studies and feminism for its limitations in addressing power dynamics and inequalities.
