Trenggalek Regency Government Leads East Java In Clean Energy Adoption With REC Certification In Indonesia The Trenggalek Regency Government has made history as the first regional government in East Java to embrace clean energy through the adoption of Renewable Energy Certificates (REC). This significant milestone follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT PLN (Persero) for the Green Energy as a Service (GEAS), committing to utilize 200 REC units equivalent to 200-megawatt hours (MWh). The MoU ceremony, held during the 2024 Indonesian Autonomous Girls (POI) Grand Final series at Tebing Kapuh, Trenggalek, saw the participation of Trenggalek Regent Mochamad Nur Arifin and PT PLN’s Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Ponorogo Manager Suzana […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dm5dUtuf #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #middleeast #africa #india #asiapacific #asia #indonesia #pln #renewableenergy #renewableenergycertificates #solarenergy #southeastasia #trenggalekregencygovernment

I’m happy to share with you the Indonesian chapter of the 2025 ICLG (International Comparative Legal Guides) Renewable Energy guide which provides over just about 10 pages a well-structured Q&A based overview of (almost…) everything you need to know about the Indonesian renewables sector. Indonesia is at a defining moment in its energy transition journey. With the end of the Jokowi administration a few days away now, and the new administration soon settling in, important decisions and directions will need to be taken to put South East Asia's largest economy and country on track to demonstrate its ability to diversify its energy supply and tap into the vast sources of clean and renewable energy which the archipelago is blessed with. The magnitude of the opportunities which lie ahead in the next 5 to 10 years is staggering (tens of GW of new capacity and grid infrastructure and as a many billions of US$ of capital) and will require a stable and attractive investment framework to allow the pooling of the widest range possible of domestic and international sources of funding and expertise for the GoI's objectives and commitments to be fulfilled. The attached Indonesian chapter of the guide (hopefully) provides a good overview of the key topics investors, financiers and contractors should have a grasp of to understand the wider context of certain requirements and the role of key stakeholders which are at play in this vast market. Happy reading and please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. #renewableenergy #indonenesia #netzero #energytransition

⚡ Building on our earlier work on overcoming financing barriers for decentralized renewable energy in Eastern Indonesia, CPI has conducted follow-up research with four case studies of renewable energy projects in East Nusa Tenggara and East Kalimantan. Switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy is key for reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable economic growth. 🌱 Indonesia’s National Energy Policy and Enhanced NDC targets highlight the need for an inclusive energy transition. However, there are obstacles preventing private investment in small-scale renewable energy projects. 🎯 Discover how Indonesia can overcome these barriers to meet its targets: https://lnkd.in/gXg8rJNf #renewablenergy #EnhancedNDC #Indonesia #climatechange #climatefinance #netzero

Indonesia is poised to make significant strides in renewable energy development, aiming for 75% renewable energy by 2040. This ambitious plan not only targets clean energy generation but also focuses on job creation and poverty reduction, contributing to a sustainable economic future. Reflecting on Indonesia’s commitment to renewable energy and speaking to different PLN sister companies, PLN Indonesia Power, PLN Nusantara Power, PLN Nusantara Renewables, PLN E, PLN Nusa Daya, PLN Energi Primer Indonesia, while attending Electricity Connect 2024, I realise that it will require significant collective efforts to turn ambitions into reality. Their current development pipelines are far from meeting announced targets, missing the vast potential for economic growth and sustainable job creation across communities. Let's keep the conversation going: What strategies do you think are crucial for achieving these ambitious renewable energy targets? I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences! #Renewables #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #Indonesia #GreenJobs #JustEnergyTransition
