In essence, Francesco talks about how the CO2 Battery, being the only deployed technology among all other modern energy storage solutions, directly supports solar and wind by providing a reliable and cost-effective answer for managing the intermittency of renewables. The article highlights how Energy Dome has moved far beyond demonstration prototypes to commercially viable 20 MW/200 MWh units, directly addressing immediate market needs for grid balancing and enhanced reliability. Furthermore, unlike lithium-ion batteries, which degrade over time, the CO2 Battery maintains high efficiency and reliability for 30 years with standard maintenance, reducing lifecycle costs and ensuring a more stable energy supply. Panasonic opens Europe’s first Panasonic HX Renewable Energy Demonstration Facility in Cardiff Panasonic has officially opened Europe’s first Panasonic HX demonstration facility in Cardiff, UK. The 50-year-old manufacturing plant now uses hydrogen fuel cells powered by green hydrogen, solar PV, and battery storage, all managed by Panasonic’s Energy Management System (EMS). This installation will power the factory’s microwave oven assembly with 100% renewable energy. Additionally, the factory has replaced its gas boiler with a renewable energy source, combining a heat exchanger and Panasonic’s heat pump technology with natural refrigerant R290, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
