The concept of Digital Twin of an Organisation (DTO) is broadly defined by tech consultancy Gartner as “a dynamic #softwaremodel of any organisation that relies on operational and contextual #data to understand how an organization operationalizes its #businessmodel, connects with its current state, responds to #changes, deploys resources and delivers customer #value.” This idea emerged from the rise of #digitaltwins in industries like #manufacturing, #healthcare and #aerospace. Originally, digital twins focused on replicating physical systems for #simulation and #optimisation, but the concept has now evolved to include entire organizations. DTOs aim to monitor and simulate internal #operations. This makes it easier to anticipate changes, streamline #processes and accurately implement #strategicinitiatives. So, is #DTO just another enterprise-level #strategy? Or does it offer potential as a scalable solution for #startups, particularly those eager for rapid #growth? Key Strategies to Accelerate IT Modernisation: In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, IT modernisation is critical for staying competitive. Here are four key strategies from CIO.COM to help speed up the process: 1. Adopt a Continuous Process: IT modernisation isn’t a one-time event. It must be an ongoing function within your organization, keeping systems up to date and aligned with business needs. 2. Prioritise by Value: Focus modernisation efforts on areas that will drive the most business value, ensuring progress that benefits the organisation. 3. Leverage Agile Principles: Break down modernisation projects into smaller, manageable tasks to deliver quick wins and ROI faster. 4. Embrace Generative AI: Use AI to streamline the process by transforming outdated code, reducing modernisation costs, and accelerating progress. 123.EXPERT’s TAKE: Agile has its place, with projects suited to Agile. However, remember that agility must be inherent in the management of any project. Generative AI can also be used to streamline the process itself and not just code. In a world where things can get pretty complicated, keeping it simple is our North star. 🌟 Getting business and IT on the same page is super important for modern companies going digital. The struggle is real because of all the operational complexities and the different professional backgrounds of the people involved. Paul Grefen , Principal Architect at Eviden, says the key is to simplify these complex digital transformations using tried-and-true models like the Method for Manufacturing Execution Systems (#M4MES) and the Eviden Circle of Customer Excellence model (#ECCE). #MindsUnleashed blog from Paul is here : : https://lnkd.in/eUz8aDSQ #DigitalTransformation #Process #Processes #GrowTogether #TeamEviden

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴: 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 ⚙️ In our latest blog post, which takes its insights from our recent paper in Research Policy, "Profiting from Innovation in Digital Business Ecosystems: A Control Point Perspective," co-authored by René Bohnsack, Michael Rennings, Carolin Block, and Stefanie Bröring, we take a closer look at the transformation from the #industrialEra to the #digitalAge. This transition marks a significant evolution in how businesses approach the architecture of their products and services, and ultimately, how they capture value. 👩💻 In contrast to the static modularity of the industrial era, digital #ecosystems are characterised by their flexibility, scalability and integration across platforms and industries. This new model supports dynamic, networked systems where value is co-created by different actors within a digital ecosystem. Product boundaries have become fluid, components have become product-agnostic, and design hierarchies have multiplied, meaning that this new architecture requires an agile and flexible approach to product development, supported by an expanded understanding that is both product-architectural and deeply rooted in the technology itself. 🧭 If businesses are to navigate this dynamic landscape successfully and thrive, they need to develop strategies that seamlessly incorporate digital technologies. They need to transition from a traditional asset optimization and value-chain focus to leveraging technical control points within broader digital ecosystems. How do we do this? 1️⃣ Embrace agility and flexibility: Encourage rapid prototyping and iterative learning to adapt swiftly to changes in technology and market conditions, ensuring a flexible approach to product development and business strategy. 2️⃣ Strategically manage control points: Identify and secure critical control points in the digital ecosystem, such as APIs, data analytics, and platform interfaces, to enhance influence and guide ecosystem dynamics through strategic technology investments and partnerships. 3️⃣ Balance openness with governance: While promoting innovation through openness, maintain quality and brand integrity by implementing well-conceived governance frameworks. This balance is imperative to cultivating a healthy ecosystem and protecting core business interests.
