Today, following the SOLSTICE project meeting in Amsterdam, Netherlands, we had the fantastic opportunity to visit the United Repair Centre, thanks to our consortium partner, Circle Economy. The day began with two presentations from Circle Economy and the United Repair Centre, who respectively discussed their activities in helping businesses toward more sustainability, and their social and circular economy business model. It was followed by a tour of the United Repair Centre facilities, where we observed their repair processes in action. The visit concluded with an engaging sewing workshop where the SOLSTICE partners learnt about different sewing techniques to repair their own clothes and textile products. A big thank you to Circle Economy for organising this event and to the United Repair Centre for hosting us and showcasing your work! 🌟

📦 Cardboard Boxes How many trees do you think we cut down for them each year? On the one hand they're eco friendly, widely recyclable and get the job done. On the other hand, they rarely get reused, and thousands of businesses buy in virgin boxes while the business next door is throwing them away. 🌲Plus we still need to cut down trees to make them! Enter, Jack Good from Reuseabox™, who are a scaling company selling cardboard boxes that are good enough for a second life. Huge carbon savings, and the perfect example of how a circular economy business can be a thriving one in the existing economy. Simon Batchelar and I sat down with Jack to hear more about his story so far and what the future holds. Take a guess at how many trees we cut down each year just for single use boxes in the comments and then watch the clip for the answer!

Did you know up to 80% of a product's environmental impact is determined at the design stage? For reasons such as this, one feature of a circular economy is product design. Products are conceived with the intention of extending their lifespan, facilitating repairs and enabling easy disassembly for recycling and repurposing. We've adopted this approach and an overall circular economy model in our business – you can learn what else this involves and the various benefits it creates here: https://ow.ly/GV5q50RmXGf

What does it mean for a business to leave the world better than we found it? Reading Net Positive by Paul Polman and Andrew Winston has been transformative. It challenges us to think beyond “doing less harm” and focus on “creating more good.” This aligns perfectly with what we’re doing at JPA Furniture—helping organisations achieve their sustainability goals through furniture audits, circular economy solutions, and sustainable furniture This book has reinforced my belief sustainability isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s about measurable actions that deliver real impact. At JPA, we’re proud to work with businesses that share this vision. I’ll be sharing more insights from *Net Positive* and how we’re turning ideas into action. If your organisation is looking to enhance its sustainability journey, let’s connect and collaborate. 💬 How is your business creating positive change? #NetPositiveJPA #SustainableFurniture #ESGGoals #CircularEconomy

Sustainability has been a word that has constantly been buzzing in my head! At Styjl we have been working on transforming our business to become more sustainable for quite some time now, but we have kept quiet about it, until we have felt ready to go public. Therefore it feels good to be able to say, "now we are public!" As many of you know, sustainability is achieved by taking many steps, some small, some slightly bigger, to get closer and closer to the ideal business model. So over the months to come we will talk about how product samples can be re-used, how standardizing the product range can have an impact on CO2 and much much more...so stay tuned. https://lnkd.in/dc5HF9PT

Let's Get Weird worked with a true circular brand, evrloop. Their focus is to change the way parents purchase sustainable baby gear, cycle after cycle. #naming #brandstrategy #circular #sustainability #startups
The Future is Circular with Let's Get Weird At Let's Get Weird, we believe in the power of a great name and brand to elevate a business. Vince Guidice, Founder of evrloop, shared his experience with us: “Working with Let's Get Weird was fantastic! Anita and Felicia guided me through building a brand platform, mission and vision statement, and value and positioning statement. I am thrilled with the results and highly recommend working with them." 🌟 Client Spotlight: evrloop evrloop, a circular baby gear startup spearheading how parents buy baby furniture and gear, came to us needing a compelling brand identity and a memorable name that would communicate their mission and attract investors. Let's Get Weird collaborated with Vince to create a robust brand identity and name for his startup, guiding it towards a successful launch. Our comprehensive approach incorporated a workshop, user interviews, and extensive research on the broader industry landscape. Furthermore, we conducted stakeholder interviews, customer surveys, and competitor analysis to ensure the brand appealed to families and stood out among competitors. The name evrloop highlights its commitment to reducing landfill waste through a focus on product life cycle and recycling. The successful launch of evrloop has led to an investment from Knudsen Capital. We are incredibly proud and grateful that Vince entrusted us with naming and shaping evrloop’s brand identity, and we look forward to their continued success. Show them some love and stay posted on their journey towards a better future https://lnkd.in/eu63ivEx

“It is a fight we all have to fight together”. Or is it? Sustainability is not a fight. It is a business decision. It makes sense, for all of us. Businesses across the board are recognizing this opportunity. “Sustainable” is the “vibe”, and if you are failing to see why, it is going to cost your business. Money. Lots of Money. It does not take rocket science to see why cutting down waste, using less to manufacture and consuming less energy can save one money, it does take a little more imagination and know-how to use the inevitable waste as a resource. To make choices that are sensible for our businesses, because, hey, we all have families to feed, AND recognizing that these choices are good for everyone. This was the theme at #LUXE PACK New York at every stall, and every conference, and clearly sustainability is no longer a “cause”. It is now second nature to this generation of consumers and businesses alike. Rylinn Sorini , Shiloah Nicolay , Kennedy Cross, Anh-Vy Pham and I had the chance to explore the packaging solutions capitalizing on this opportunity to “do good”, and make monies. #Sustainability #Packaging #Recycle #Compostable
