Heidi Broker, a Scoot educator in Modesto, was a finalist for the Team Community Challenge sponsored by Modesto Junior College and Solve Community Challenges. As a result, Heidi and her team won $2,500! 🏆
Heidi has worked in a long-term role at Aspire University Charter School since January 2024. To support the school community, Heidi and her team donated $1,000 of the winnings to the Aspire Public Schools network. 📚🏫
Heidi also made a sizable donation to "It Takes a Village", a nonprofit in Modesto focused on supporting students who are unhoused. Heidi was inspired by students she supports at her school and we want to celebrate Heidi for giving back to her community! 🌟👏

Summer should be a time of discovery and growth, but transportation barriers often stand in the way for many youths in our community. They need a lift to reach literacy camps, theatre programs, sports camps, and math corps camps—vital opportunities for their development.
That’s where our M1 Mobility program steps in, and we need your help to make it happen!
Here’s how your donations can directly impact the lives of these young people:
🚗 Expand Service Reach: With your help, we can ensure over 2,500 rides this summer, allowing more youths to access essential learning and growth opportunities.
🚗 Support Consistent Access: Reliable transportation ensures that no opportunity is missed due to lack of a ride.
🚗 Build Brighter Futures: Every ride is a step towards acquiring new skills, enhancing education, and forging stronger community ties.
Your support means we can drive forward, not just by giving a ride, but by investing in the futures of Pontiac’s youth. Let's help them get where they need to go and grow!
👉 Donate today and fuel their journey to success! https://lnkd.in/ejsJcBx9
Let's drive positive change together! Join us in ensuring that no youth is left behind due to a lack of transportation.

Today is #GivingTuesday, the biggest day of giving all year for nonprofits of all sizes. In fundraising terms, it’s all that and a bag of chips.
The 411 is this: we can’t make the impact without you. The support of our community enables us to equip and empower Georgia’s high school students to lead and serve in their schools, communities, and ultimately the workforce.
You can still support our 21CLub era with a donation today! Give now at https://lnkd.in/gHN2zfNx#youthleadership#georgianonprofit#gagivesday
As you pull out your college gear for March Madness, how about helping our juniors forge their own college paths. It’s quick and easy and no risk of a broken bracket. Just follow the link below.
We could use your help supporting an #AlternativeSpringBreak of the academic variety. We are sending four outstanding Juniors on an #HBCU college trip over #SpringBreak and are trying to raise $4000 to help defray the cost of the trip. Students will spend 8 days visiting HBCU schools located in the midwest, east coast and southern regions of the country. Your donation today will make this trip a reality for these students: https://lnkd.in/gvyPVn2E
On this #GivingTuesday… We're Turning Housing Hope into Housing Action!

Charity—whether through money, food, clothing, or toys—is a vital practice that we should make a regular part of our lives. In Islam, even a simple smile is considered an act of charity.
It’s inspiring to see people dedicate their time and effort to something spiritually enriching while supporting those in need. Here are some key takeaways about charity and its significance in Islam.
Charity helps alleviate poverty, reduce inequality, and strengthen bonds within the community, fostering a sense of mutual care and responsibility.
Islam emphasizes that acts of charity, big or small, are significant in the eyes of Allah, as I said above even a smile can count as charity.
In fact , Zakat(charity) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, requiring Muslims to give a fixed percentage (usually 2.5%) of their wealth annually to help the needy, support social welfare, and promote economic balance.
Charity is considered a way to purify one’s wealth and soul, reduce greed, and earn Allah’s blessings and forgiveness. The Qur’an and Hadith frequently promise immense rewards for those who give generously.
Ultimately, charity benefits both the giver and the receiver, serving as a powerful means to foster a more just, fair, and compassionate society.

With Christmas fast approaching, I felt inspired to give back to the community in a meaningful way. I therefore personally took the lead in organising Christmas pamper boxes for women and children in refuge at Pennine Domestic Abuse Partnership (PDAP).
This involved planning, coordinating donations, and working closely with Deborah from PDAP to ensure we could make a real impact for their clients in need. Our Family Department already work very closely with PDAP who are a key provider of domestic abuse services in Kirklees so it was incredibly rewarding to hear how much this will mean to the families at the refuge.
Also, many thanks to the two offices that donated, we successfully gathered enough donations to fill four boxes!
I experienced the best fundraiser ever a few months ago. It was a win-win-win (..win..win..win) situation.
My church was fundraising for a summer camp to send high-schoolers to.
The high schoolers put on a "Parent's Night Out."
One Saturday night they let parents drop off their kids for 3 hours. The high schoolers watched all the kids and had fun together. This was free, and they also accepted donations.
It was awesome, on so many levels. So many wins
Win 1- The Donor: They gave me something SO valuable, time with my spouse, rather than just asking me for money. I GLADLY donated.
Win 2- The Recipient: The high schoolers gave of their own time and effort. They participated and contributed, and this creates ownership.
Win 3- The Values: This is 100% aligned with the values the church is trying to foster. Intergenerational relationships. Generosity. Community. Trust. Attention to time building strong marriages.
If we can creatively build this sort of infinite win situation into our non profits and businesses, we'll have done well.
No student should have to miss assignments and risk falling behind in school because they don’t have reliable Internet access at home.
Last year, Matthew Gilbert Middle School in Jacksonville, Florida, extended its public school network into the community. Now, students can get free Internet right at home via a tower on the school’s campus.
With Truist, we helped fund this work through the EPIC grant. Donate to support more work like this. https://lnkd.in/eajF5Yr2
